Gameplay isn't one single thing. It's fielding, hitting mechanics, pacing, collision detection, physics, pitch speeds, authenticity, and on and on. And several people mention things that are gameplay elements.

All you guys bring up good points. While some may think this is trivial, I think having custom batter music is a huge selling point for myself. I'll have to chop my MP3's first, but it's going to be sweet to have songs to the batters. I have more than enough songs to assign every player in the game, but I don't think I have the time to edit all the songs and transfer to the hard drive. I know I'll customize all the Blue Jays and star players though.

Looking back the March 24th release date is a good thing, because I'm flooded with papers to write, and if I got ASB I know I would be sampling the game.

BK, you seem to already have a pretty strong opinion about ASB05. First you slam it on the MVP board and proclaim that you'll buy every baseball game made this year - except ASB - because even a person with a "weak will" wouldn't be tempted to buy ASB05. Then you come into the ASB board and post in a thread for people who do plan to buy the game just to let everyone here know you're not going to. I'd say that's beyond disinterest. That's straying toward vindictiveness... for a game that hasn't been released yet.

OK, I'll play along. What is it about the new game that has already made you decide you're not going to buy it - and to go around to all the boards telling everyone how awful it is?

                              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I went around the boards and told everyone how awful it is?? Don't you think that's a bit extreme? I have made 2 posts total on ASB in the last 6 months.

But if you must know, after the last couple years disaster of a game, it will take a lot of convincing before Acclaim gets another 50 bucks out of me. They have all the bells and whistles but the game play is putrid, most notable the batter pitcher interface.

Cursor hitting was way, way to easy, and with zone hitting you hit about 99% of the pitches to the middle part of the field. Game had so many little issues on the field that it was a chore to finish a game.
