The 3D cursor in ASB allows for way to much exact control of where the will be hit.

I agree. It was way too easy to get the exact hit that you wanted. Flyball, groundball, pull the pitch, it was way too easy. I am looking forward to the new zone hitting that ASB is using this year.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

      pfunk,

I tended to play ASB that way until I felt that wasn't realistic. If I was sitting on an inside pitch but see the ball go on the outside part of the plate I should be able to adjust.

I think baseball should be the easiest sport to program because baseball is compeletley situation. What do you do on 0-2 count against a great hitter? Now the mechanics of the game and the different nuances I have to agree are almost imposibble to program.

I like MVP batting system because I think it allows the user to play baseball and not just move the cursor over a dot. But it is only, and this is my way of putting it, 2d way of hitting. Since the CPU determines where it's going to make contact all you are left with when to swing and where you would like to hit the ball. The CPU does the rest.

I think there's a better way of implementing hitting I just don't knwo what it is.

            Pfunk,

Thanx for your reply. My problem with that is I have to be honest. hehehe...well to me the game is supposed to have some way of trying to keep me honest as well. Instead when I used the cursor I felt like I was cheating the system.

I know none of these system's is perfect. But I must say that after reading the review of MVP here at OS I'm intrigued and may give it a shot. All of these games are pretty good. That's the nice thing. They're all so close to each other quality wise.

I get frustrated with having more homeruns than groundballs in a game of ASB. it seems I used the power swing on All-Star level, normal pitching and keep knocking things out of the park. heck I'm legally blind to boot. I even hit some homeruns using the contact cursor in ASB. hehehe...that's why I liked WSB because I could see the ball better. I may have even liked the way the ball came off the bat better....just hated the swings.
