Wouldn't that be the same as bumping the difficulty level up? When dealing with sliders there is usually one master control that sets all sliders for a certain difficulty level. Any adjustments to individual sliders after that are normally to correct gameplay issues which isn't needed if the developers balanced this out tp start with.

a perfect example of good use of sliders is NBA Live. I personally prefer to play the game at a slower pace so I set game speed to low, but when I play with my friends they want to play it at default speed. Without sliders I wouldn't have this option.

Sliders allow the user to tweak the game to their liking. If a game doesn't have sliders and there's certain thing you hate with a passion for example OF speed then your SOL.

I think there's a difference between gameplay or tempo sliders. Things they make the game harder or easier for the user and sliders that fix AI gaffes.

Pitch speed is a good example although I wouldn't call this a slider more like an option. Where I personally think the sliders are bandaids for broken games are like QB accuracy or WR catching ability. When the QB can go 15-17 for 350 yards then the game mechanics are off. I think difficulty should address the areas were you make the game harder.

Take MVP baseball, if steals worked and they got steal speed correct there should be no need for that. It should be as simple as player ratings and the AI doing the right stuff at the right times. If you have to change a slider just to make it so the CPU can hit a homer or so a human can have realistic steal numbers, that's were the gameplay was negleted.

I see your guys' point but personally I would classify as a much needed gameplay option and I wouldn't want to see sliders for AI address those types of things.

There is nothing lost with ASB including sliders; you'd still have the same game you all know and love, and it would allow others to address the *minor* issues they have with the game.

I was actually going to stay out of it until I read so many commendations to the ASB team for leaving out sliders.

The team should be commended for making a great game of baseball without sliders, NOT for leaving them out. Too many people here can't/don't realize there's a difference.
