I never thought HH was realistic at all. When a curveball breaks 6 feet, thats when i hit eject on my ps2. On top of that, when your players made errors they stood there looking confused for like 5 seconds. Lol. To each there own i guess.

Well to each their own, but it's few and far between finding people who don't find HH realistic. I do think curves moved a lot in the game (although it's not uncommon to see a major league curveball drop from the letters to the knees), but the gameplay was always very solid. It might have felt scripted at times, but for whatever reason it always left me wanting more. That's something ASB and WSB never did....

Hey Joeboo! Long time no Buc thread

I have HH 2004 for the Xbox and am still playing HH 2003 for the PC. I have all the updated MLB Rosters for 2003, plus stadium mods, FSN overlays, personalized stadium music, etc. Still awesome. PLUS...pull-down menus. I absolutely hate the interface on HH 2004. It takes forever to navigate! Besides, HH 2003 came out early in 2002 (HH 2001 in March 2000) and still has better features than a lot of games:

Accurate player progression.
Smart trade AI
In-depth career mode.
Stats out the #$%^
Ejections, mound visits, fatigue, errors, passed balls, variable weather, balks, 40-man rosters in September, full minor-league system, etc.

If 3DO did nothing else right (and it didn't), it did baseball justice. Here! Here! to HH!

I'm thinking about trading in ASB for the last High Heat on PS2. Do they have a non-cursor hitting system that works realistically? How does the pitching compare to ASB?

hitting is non-cursor.. pitches seem a little unrealistic (ie curve balls that really go 12-9, sliders).. however this can be corrected by tuning up the speed - makes the movement less noticeable.. also up-to-date rosters can be found.. i re-bought HH 2004 for the PS2 & glad i did..

Last year I played HH and got through 1.5 seasons before football games came out. Out of the box, it played OK. However, with a few slider tweaks it played one heck of a baseball game.

My only complaint was that during the offseason some of the moves and signings were a bit unrealistic. I was able to get a lot of real good players through free agency. Also when I drafted I went for pitchers while the CPU teams went for hitters. I was able to load up on a lot of pitchers with 99 arms and high levels of accuracy and had a rotation loaded with studs.

Other than that, HH2004 was a great game...
