Has anyone experimented with runner speeds to see if that somehow makes the base runners more aggressive. Too many singles off the walls, runners not advancing home on flys to the outfield.

Ideas for improving gameplay
Maybe this could be made a sticky, but there are a lot of annoying little things in the game. Perhaps some of you have come up some fixes. For example, reducing the outfielders RANGE makes for a few more hits as the outfielders don't get to almost every fly ball.

That thread is different.
I'm talking about guys who play the game right now. What are they doing that might improve some of the obvious deficiencies in the game. What controls are they tweaking, etc.

Oh, I get it now.
- turn off fieldercam
- turn off all pitch/hit aids and strike zone (although I leave the glow ball on because it can be hard to find sometimes)
- turn on classic baserunning (less prone to accidents)
- you get good variety of hits with zone batting but better variety with 2d cursor (I never see pop ups back into the backstop with zone)Comment

Re: Ideas for improving gameplay
Well, I have already posted these things I do to make the game play better for me..but here they are again
1. I reduce the outfielders RANGE...C is the highest I have given anyone(Andruw Jones..etc.) and mostly C- and D+
2. Reduce the ARM STRENGTH of the outfielders by at least 1 1/2 letter grade.
This does a few things...it allows for more balls to drop for hits(in front of the outfielders) and it also allows baserunners to take second base on balls hit off the walls and into the gaps. I HARDLY EVER see a ball hit off the wall for a single anymore. With these reductions....I also see more guys scoring from second on a single.
I have been tinkering with lowering the arm ratings of catchers to allow for more steals. I'm still working on this one.
and finally, I have increased all starting pitchers stamina(regardless of which roster or who they are) to A+ or A. I get the occasional complete game, but at least now pitchers are going into the seventh inning of good games. The still get yanked if necessary.
Long relievers are getting B+ or A stamina
MR are getting B-, B or B+
and closers are getting C+ or B-....these may sound high, but they really are not....especially if you use any generated counts.
