    Re: Possible Zone Fix

I hope so because I find myself switching from 2-D cursor to zone hitting in the middle of the game when I get frustrated with the cursor. Also, trying to play with the fastest pitch speed with the cursor is almost impossible.

yeah but the real important thing is, Do you strike out. I find that you dont strike out much when playing on zone hitting.

The only setting I've used is the medium pitch speed and I'm averaging about 2 HR's a game on veteran. The problem with zone hitting is that I have yet to hit a foul ball and haven't pulled the ball near the line into the outfield yet. I do hit groundballs though.

                        Re: Possible Zone Fix

You will strike out when you are fooled. You'll probably strike out at a much more realistic rate than with cursor, which is unrealistic.

I've said, you won't hit foul balls, but that won't affect the pitchers fatiguing, which is the benefit of fouling off pitches (increasing the pitch count). And yes, you won't hit balls down the line often (if at all), but its a tradeoff. Cursor has its problems, such as the batter not swinging when you hit the A button, too many strikeouts and taking attention away from the game because you're fooling so much with the cursor. The way I figure it, ASB made zone the default this year so the developers had to spend most of their time testing this mode.

I play with Zone hitting on the slowest Sim speed, and I get a ton of foul balls. I have played probably 15 games and I was say in a 9 inning game there are probably 10-15 foul balls a game. I use the right analog stick as well.

I have also started to notice this pattern as well about the number of HR on pitch speed. I have been playing on the slowest and having a lot of reaslitc scores for both me and the computer. Yet when I bumped up the speed, my first game against the Marlins I scored 11 runs.

There is something to what is being said. Try the slowest speed with analog batting and see if anyone else gets realism. I also play with smart counts and random as well.
