    Consensus on pitch count

Anybody use a predetermined pitch count and have there pitchers not get too tired. I would like to play all my games in a season, but I need to find a way to speed them up a bit.

    Re: Consensus on pitch count

im using a 1-1 count these days, and the results are pretty good....higher stamina guys are going on average7, sometimes 6 depending on how their performing...the back end of the rotation guys are tiring in the 5th & 6th, which is realistic...so far im happy with it

I use a random pitch count. I'm 22 games into my season with the Brewers and have been able to pitch one complete game with Matt Kinney. Most guys last 6 innings or so so it seems faily realistic, and speeds up the games considerably.

                      Re: Consensus on pitch count

Yesterday, I did a little number crunching and figued that most at-bats take between 3-4 pitches, average. With a 1-1 count, you are GUARANTEED at least 3 pitches, which should make pitch counts pretty close. I'm going to try the "Random" option just to see how it works, but if not, I think 1-1 is pretty good. It won't screw up strike ratios, and pitchers should tire out realistically while getting close to life pitch counts.
