Not trying to interject here at all, just wanted to comment that I played the OXM demo and the commentary is laugh out loud funny. May not be news to folks who have played it in years past, but I was pleasently surprised by how it cracked me up.

Re: Beta MLB Slugfest: Loaded Impressions
You can turn aggression off. Online is pretty smooth. I never had any lag affect my ability to hit the ball. You can play classic online, but when I went on there were only 3 other people on, all playing slugfest. Slugfest mode actually works the best online because it is fast paced, and doesn't allow anyone to throw balls... so basically you can swing at everything. It's definitely for the arcade crowd types who hate when people throw them balls. You know the people who get pissed in other baseball games when you throw them balls and they swing? They belong on slugfest, really.
The cool part about it though, is you can't really be 'cheap' in this game. Unlike normal baseball games, it's all really part of the game. I haven't tried a tournament yet, but they are up to 16 people and are single elimination.
Also, 720p is not in unfortunately. I do notice some jaggies when playing on my HD monitor, mostly on the lines between the bases is where they are really noticeable. I don't think you would notice as much on a regular tv, and you only see them during cutscenes mostly anyways.Comment

Re: Beta MLB Slugfest: Loaded Impressions
yeah theres 3 modes:
slugfest, where everything is pretty much arcade.
mlb classic, where most of the arcadey stuff is turned off.
then there is custom, where you can pick and choose.
There are game options and user options. Here are pics I took with my camera of each:
