Re: Konami's Making Power Pros 2016 (PS4/PS3/Vita) & Pro Yakyuu Spirits Ace (iOS/Andr

I have a couple of questions for anyone in the know. First, I have the latest Japanese Power Pros game for the PS4. I've been a fan of these games for several years and seemingly there was always a way to unlock more stadiums through spending points. I'm not seeing any in this latest version, not sure if there just isn't any or I'm missing them. I have over 50,000 points saved up and when I go to the coin icon on the main screen I can't find any stadiums to buy. Furthermore I'm not sure what to buy because I don't know what I'm buying. I could always tell if I was buying a stadium as there would be a pic of it.

Second, I am currently in a season with the Eagles. I'm 34-17 at the moment with my team batting average at around .290 and an ERA of 4.04. Batting average may be a tad high but the Hawks are right there with me and a couple of games back in the division. My ERA is in the middle of the pack so good there.

Problem seems to be that I hit too many home runs. I've hit like 80 with the next closest team at around 50. Ball weight is normal so wondering if I should go to the heavy ball? Will that affect all teams or just my team? Or is that even the answer? I do always go for power swing unless the current batter has the worst form for that particular day. I don't have a batter that leads the league in home runs. Some beast on the Hawks has that honor but I have 4 or 5 batters in the top 10 in home runs. So just asking for suggestions or are the Eagles just a great power hitting team?

In regards to stadiums I've been curious about that as well. I'll look into it when I get the time. Working on posting up ONLINE translations which should be done later on today if anyone is interested in playing. I'll update with the link when it's ready. If you want to get in some practice the default online settings are:

Hitting Cursor assist: Level 1 (can be changed to none)

Batting & Pitching Cams: default behind batter view (can be changed in settings)

Defense: Manual (cannot be changed to auto)

Pitching: Manual (can be changed to 2-button)

You can also play Manager Mode online.

Lag was minimal and didn't affect play, there's a delay after the ball is hit which actually helps you get your bearings on defense.

Regarding your second question, I can't answer that without knowing your settings. I mean I could easily tweak settings that allow me to jack HR's all day. What are your settings for...

        Pitch Speed?
        CPU pitching difficulty?
        CPU pitch cursor?
        Hitting Cursor lock-on?
CPU Pitchers repertoire display? (Show Direction and Pitch, Show Direction Only, Dont Show)
        CPU Defense difficulty?
        Strike zone display?

If the home runs you're hitting are happening because you're hitting the sweetspot of the bat too often on moving pitches then you should lower the assist level. I recommend either level 1 or level 2 assist.

If the home runs you're hitting are happening because the CPU is throwing too many meatball down the middle then you should increase the pitching difficulty level. I recommend level 4 pitching.

The shop doesn't have any stadiums in it from what I've seen. It's mostly just Success/Powerful Festival items and OB legends that are for sale.

Most of the home runs I hit are on fastballs, not necessarily mistake pitches although that does happen as well but I'm just able to get the sweet spot on the ball on fastballs. Not good at all on breaking pitches, I would say 80% + of my home runs are on fastballs. I'll have to go back to settings and check but I think my batting is on level 2 assist. CPU pitching I'll have to check as well. Thanks to you and Spirits Translations for the help!

Do you play with the pitch preview cursor turned on where you can see the CPU's pitch target before they throw the ball? It's turned on by default, and I definitely recommend turning it off so that you can't jump on fastballs so easily.

If you still find that hitting fastballs is too easy even with the pitch preview off, then I would try increasing the global pitch speed. It defaults to 3 and goes as high as 5.

I find that 3 pitch speed with 4 pitch difficulty and no pitch preview cursor is a good challenge for me.

Yeah I'm going to make some changes, thanks for the input. Seems like I was initially having issues while in season mode getting my settings to save. I would make some changes when I first started playing, save the season but the settings wouldn't save. I ended up backing out of the season and doing the settings from the main screen icon and start the season over. I'm well into the season now and hope I can get it to work while in season mode.

Where do i customize my game settings so they are always the same when I enter a match? Currently, I'm only doing exhibition mode. Every time I adjust my settings after selecting the teams, they're fine. But when I have a second match, it reverts back to default setting.

Whenever you change your settings on the prematch or in-match menus, those changes will reset at the end of the game.

You have to go back to the main menu and select the gear icon to save your settings permanently. That is the place where your "My Settings" are stored.

I previously printed off the menu settings pages listed on the Spirits Translation site but the settings in the main menu appear to be different than the settings in season mode. Like possibly when you start a season you are unable to adjust some of the settings. At least there doesn't appear to be as many settings to change in the season mode settings. I'm confused so I'll see if there's a season mode settings page listed over at Spirits Translations.

Before you play the next season game try going into the Pennant/System menu, change settings then save them. The "Data" settings from the main menu will not effect Pennant settings.

It's slightly different in the new version but I'm sure you can figure it out. Also, as mentioned above these will not effect your season settings.

Played this cheeser online today - he stole bases on me all day. He'd get a base hit then sub in his speedsters. He stole 1st to 2nd then 2nd to 3rd no problem. I tried pick-offs, pitch-outs etc but he'd just run on the first pitch I threw.

It was the first time playing online on my Vita which had some nasty lag but I was playing in the middle of the day with wireless connection. Maybe he took advantage of a poor connection I dunno. But if it's an exploit then it looks like I'll just be playing Manager Mode online.

I want to jump in and ask about the CPU pitching cursor.

Even though hitting is already challenging on default difficulty, just wondering if there is a way to completely remove the CPU's final pitch location (you know, where the ball hovers within the strike practically giving the user the exact location of where the pitch crosses the plate). As it stands now, I tend to simply watch for the ball marker hovering around the strike zone and aim.

Is there a way to set it up like MLBtheShow where the user has no clue where the ball will cross the plate with the exception of actually reading the pitch? You can certainly do it in PYS, but I don't see an option for it in Jikkyou. Note: If I do it in PYS, I can't it a worth of lick, but it's nice to know it's possible if I ever master PYS.

I wanted to piggy back off of this post with a few important follow up question. Hopefully I make "sense."

                              (1) Will this "mess" up the real Japan teams? If I do start fiddling around with the real Japan teams, and start changing the Japanese names to English names, will this change the names for the 12 default official 2016 Japan teams? I think I may have found my answer and I don't think it messes with the 12 default official teams. It's the same with creating custom teams. It's simply copying and pasting but retaining the original teams as is.

                              (2) More importantly, is there a way to switch someone's position? I found a player that I might want to name as Bryce Harper. The found player plays center field is 27 years old, but Bryce Harper is 24 years old and plays right field, is there a way to "fix" this? Also, what about changing someone's weight and age? Or do I pretty much have to find someone who actually fits the real MLB players?

                              (3) Position: I also notice players having multiple positions. How do I know which player starts at first, or second, or center or right field, etc.? With the example below, how do I know who's the primary starter at first base?

                              three different players:
Player 1: FIRST, second, third, outfielder
                              Player 2: FIRST
                              Player 3: FIRST third

                              (4) Is there a way to lock players to certain positions on the field? I don't want the CPU to put Josh Donaldson in Center field when he's a third baseman. I don't want Danny Valencia playing outfield when he's a third baseman.

Yes, turn CPU Pitch cursor OFF.

You won't mess up the default teams, it's just a copy/paste.

In regards to fielding priority check our batter attributes page. CPU will generally use highest ranked defender at catcher, SS and 2B while other positions they lean more towards the better offensive player.

No way to lock out a player from a position in simmed games. If you're playing you can do this, just make sure you have manual subs on. If you create a team or edit a team in season you can assign certain roles and set lineups.
