    Re: PYS on PS4?

The problem with MLB The Show is the game play. Every year they focus on aesthetics and other related items. If the developers would focus on the game play engines (physics, animation, etc.), the game would be on the same level as PYS.

I'm still playing PYS 11 and the game play is light years ahead of the current editions of The Show.

Well it because they take pride in their gameplay. They don't use the cursors or complete user input because they don't like it. I personally really like the MLB The Show games. I liked being able to have both PYS and The Show because of the different variety in the games but no with just The Show i dont have that luxury.

I really hope all this speculation about PYS 17 is true and it does come back to life. Although The Show is a very good game, it really is the physics and animations there that have always been disappointing to me. I have and continue to play PYS 12 thru 15 and gameplay IMO is still superior to this year's Show. I've always hated the pitching mechanics in The Show; it just doesn't seem right or natural. Can't seem to explain, maybe the animations. To the minority here that have experienced PYS, you understand the step backward when playing anything else. I think I'll pass on tomorrow's Show release.

it's like i'm talking here, you mean the pitchers look like there soft tossing to home plate? yes it's bad, very bad. But not as bad as the fielding.

come on man, pride? That's thick. Fielding is complete trash. Pitching is OK but not as good as PYS with my settings. Hitting is pretty assisted compared to PYS. I'm just saying, not bashing it.

I actually really enjoy the show. PYS gameplay truly is light years ahead of the show in every aspect and i totally agree with you but i still have fun playing the show. The Show 17 which i picked up today really is a fun, solid game. Its not close to PYS but its still fun. Also without PYS this is the only realistic sim game on the PS4 so why not?

Lets just pray for a PS4 PYS.

konami will deliver to many Japanese want a realistic baseball game, The Show won't be the only realistic baseball game in the world. Hopefully Microsoft starts realizing how important first party development is for there number two console and makes some sports games. Baseball market isn't that petty so money is there. Just hope the WBC is why it's being delayed.

Yeah I think Konami will deliver.

I also think that EA will deliver with a MLB game within the next 5 years. Their basketball game is majorly struggling. I bet it gets discontinued, and they decide to reincarnate MVP.

                  <iframe width="780" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HoLpe970arM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Some of the Japanese comments on video were .......

                  1. Prospy 2017 has the highest priority

                  2. No, I have not done this, but I'm going with PS4 and vita with 2017 Tadashi and WBC mode installed.

                  3. Sweet and sour pork soy sauce.

                  4. Why is it so bad head to you? Take it out early and truly ask for it on ps4.

I like the show but their fielding broadcast view cant compare with PYS. Throws home from outfield just don't quite cut it visually at times

That's PYS Ace not vita. I still think we will get PYS on PS4 and Vita.

Another thing is it said it used 3D scans so maybe it was for ace.

It also added SunTrust Stadium and moved Turner Field to the classic stadiums. The career mode is now getting an RPG story mode where you get to make off-field as well as on-field decisions. The new Retro Mode with simplified gameplay. And the Diamond Dynasty mode is really fun.

Its not as fun as PYS but PP just doesn't cut it for me, and if we do get PYS it'll be in June/July so I need something to hold me over until then.
It's great that they're having all those additions, but my major concern is that adding new animations does not remove old poorly executed animations.

As a matter of fact, I use to love MLB the Show. MLB 09 is what got me back to gaming since the days of NES/SNES. Yes, I took a major hiatus from console gaming (completely skip the PS1, PS2, original xbox, 360, Wii. etc). My first glimpse of MLB 09 and I was instantly hooked, and propelled me to get a PS3 and flat screen 55" TV.

Then when I first got a glimpse of Pro Yakyuu Spirits 06's trailer probably when MLB 12 came out I think, that's when I knew there was better. PYS animations were simply more lifelike. PYS player movements were top notch. I couldn't get past the Japanese language barrier and held off sticking with MLB the Show. I took the plunge the year after and grabbed PYS06 and years later PYS2015. I found heaven with PYS.

I'm passing on the Show until they get the pitching and fielding/throwing mechanics done properly. Against my better judgment, I bought MLB 16 digitally. My purpose was to do a compilation of all real life MLB pitchers and their video game MLB the Show counterpart and do a massive thread to showcase how ALL their pitchers are still lacking the proper pitching mechanics. Unfortunately, I never got around to it. Didn't have time. Still want to do it sometime though. For a lack of a better phrase, watching MLB the Show pitcher's from the broadcast camera is unfortunately an eye sore.

FYI, from what I have read, somewhere, MLB the Show have tried adopting a lot of what PYS has to offer. I think one or some of the developers mention something about that, somewhere in the past. It's probably on the internet somewhere. While "hit variety" has been touted for the past few years with MLB the Show, the hit variety has always been present with PYS since way back in the days. Infield choppers and fair balls down the line that curves into foul territory has always been present with PYS/PP I think.

Honestly, all of their pitchers' mechanics are still off. Just look at the MLB 17 Gifs below. Pitching a baseball above 90 mph (or even someone who throws a baseball with all his force) is a very violent body action, and unfortunately, that is not captured in any of the MLB 17's pitchers.

Take notice of the pitcher's release. Look at the arms violent motion. The entire body during the pitch and after the pitch. MLB the Show is missing the proper mechanics of pitching a baseball. Look at the follow through of the arms and the entire body.

I first learned about PYS about March of 2016 so I'm pretty mad that we haven't gotten a new one but I'm really hoping for one.
