And no, saying something pales in comparison to something else doesn't equate to saying it's bad. It's just inferior. This isn't even a matter of semantics. It's a matter of you not knowing what "pales" means.NFL:Packers

Re: Yet even more scores...this time from OPM
PSPsportz is what is known as a message board contrarian. He is arguing for argument's sake and he will continue to do so because that's how he functions. That's why you find him in forums for games that he doesn't like, it's where he finds the conflict he so greatly desires.
He takes a position against something not so much because he doesn't like it (even though he probably doesn't) but because he needs to set himself against another group of individuals who he considers misguided or wrong. He'll argue vigorously and then when you amp up your end of the discussion he'll say, "Oh, calm down it's just a game..."
Pretty pathetic, but not uncommon.
I suggest just letting him spew his opinions and having your discussions with the people who are genuinely interested in discussing the game. If this board has an ignore feature I'd use it, because he's only going to get worse after the release of the game (see 2k5 forums.)Comment

pale: "Feeble; weak: 'a pale rendition of the aria'. "
'Pales in comparsion' generaly means quite a bit inferior, not just inferior. Its like you could say two games get a score of 90 and 84. The 84 one is just inferior, but you wouldn't say it 'pales in comparison'. It would have to be more like scores of 98 and 71 (or lower), in other words it insinuates a fairly large difference between the two. And in the context of these two games there really isn't much room for MLB to "pale" yet at the same time be a good (or not equating bad in your argument) game. The only case this could be true is if MVP was the second comming of video games unlike anything we had every seen before, which is was not.
A better example of 'pales' would be say 989's 2004 football game against ESPN2k4.Last edited by Medway; 03-07-2005, 10:03 PM.Comment
