Emal to 2kSports re MLB2k5 WSE

    Hi,
Many baseball gamers are looking forward to the release of your MLB2k5 WSE next week, however there has been no real news to see, e.g., hands on, previews on any of the gaming web sites.

Will there be any type of info available pre-release? If not, can you tell me if any of the obvious bugs from the first game have been addressed.

    thank you, Jim Stewart

Short and sweet. Don't know if it will do any good, but I tried.

It depends on who's going to respond to this. Hopefully the email isn't an automatic replying thing that just ends up saying:

      Dear customer,

Thank you for your concern. Major League Baseball 2K5: World Series Edition will ship Tuesday, October 17th with a 2-disc case featuring a DVD of past World Series highlights and dramas. There will also be exciting new game modes where you can carry a current playoff team all the way to the World Series; and another one where you can re-live past World Series', like the Battle of the Bay.

It will hit in stores on both Xbox and PlayStation 2 at $24.99.

      Thanks,
      2K Sports

I sure hope your question is actually answered, dude.

Me too. Our hopes for a Big League (or World Series) Tuesday were shanked.

Hopefully they're smart and advertise during the playoff games when it comes out. However, I don't see them announcing any bug fixes during a commercial.

Let's just pray that something's given.

I so wish that Blue Shift was still working on this game. I would probably be beta testing right now.

I'd say there's hardly any chance I'm gonna get this game now. Like I said before, 2K is shooting themselves in the foot by releasing this game so late. With the Yanks and Boston out of the post season, I'm sure alot less people will be purchasing this game.

I won't be in the mood to play a baseball game until next Spring now that the Yanks have been ousted. I would have bought this game in a heartbeat if it came out two weeks ago so I could follow along with real life on my Xbox, but that won't be happening.

I'm gonna play it just because the Yankees HAVE been ousted!!!!

Just kiddin'. I think we're all on the fence with this one.

I already know the bugs will be fixed.Thats all I want. The bugs kept me from getting the original version, so I commend TT for they're effords at re-releasing the game. I will get it next week for my winter league baseball fix, for sure.

EB,Gamestop or 2K Sports themselves should have an offer where you can trade in your old copy of MLB 2K6 and be able to get the new one for half off. That way people who have it and are on the fence about buying the new one, would more than likely give it a shot. At this rate without any commercials or news, they are in fact shooting themselves in the foot.

                    Hello,

Major League Baseball 2K5: World Series Edition did address some of the issues with Major League Baseball 2K5. I am unaware of what bugs have been addressed, however if you provide me with specific issues, I can check to see if they have been addressed in this version of the game.

                    Thanks for contacting 2K Sports

Well, this is a start. I'll dig up some of your guys complaints and send them off. I don't want to overload them, but will send them some of the basics.

Yeah, I know. I was gentle. Here's what I wrote....

                        Hi Christian,

Thanks for the timely response. There is a lot of chatting on the baseball gaming boards about this game, but many are tentative about purchasing it with all the bugs in the game. Here are the biggest complaints.

                        1. The passed ball glitch. Way too many passed balls.

                        2. No bunting by CPU team in classic swing mode. Only bunting by CPU in KZone.

                        3. Problem with double positions in lineups, for example, two shortstops, pitcher batting third, etc.

                        4. With two out and a runner on second the pitcher usually walks the next batter if the pitcher is due up next.

                        5. On what appear to be routine catches by an outfielder the ball will mysteriously bounce behind him.

                        6. The pitching is too fine. It's very difficult to throw a ball to a batter unless you deliberately throw one. In other words has it been coded into the pitching that the pitchers accuracy is not always spot on. If you play a game you will see that when you pitch you can throw almost ALL strikes to the CPU. No variance.

                        7. The fielding camera angle needs to be higher when the ball is hit by the CPU.

I think most of the gamers agree that this could be the top baseball game with a few things fixed. Again, really appreciate the response.

                        Jim;

I figure this will give us an indication.

Thanks for taking the initiative on this. Maybe we will get some good answers in return. I think that 2Ksports would be idiots to release a game with new features and none of the bugs being fixed.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't have a problem with #4. I consider that smart managing.

Yeah #4 sounds like good managing to me also unless its an obvious pinch hitter situation for the pitcher
