Forgot about that... if they fix the bunting prob, it's pretty much worth it right there. So you buy the game, play it and report back if the bunting problem's been fixed. If so, I'll reconsider

Re: Emal to 2kSports re MLB2k5 WSE

Well, I'll be getting the game. I've enough credit at Gamestop to pick it up. I'll trade in the old one for a couple bucks too. It's realease date is Tuesday and I live out in the desert so we are a day or so late to get things. I would suspect it will be available here on the 20th? I'll let everyone know.

If I don't hear anything from the person at 2k sports I'll send them a reminder this afternoon.

Baa7, check this out from an email from Ireland about my book. Woot!

      Hi Jim.

It's James here, from Ireland. Just a quick note to
say that I finished your book only a few minutes ago
and I loved it. It was very well-written and easy to
read. It was very refreshing to hear about a side of
the war that has not been covered by many books. The
chapters about your childhood were vivid, idyllic and
very easy to relate to, regardless of whether one grew
up in the United States or not.

The Vietnam section was incredibly engaging and
different to any other book about the conflict I have
read before. And the chapters after your return to
"the world" were incredibly moving. Thank you for
writing so honestly and from the heart.

I read the book in about three night and found it
very, very hard to put down. I have already
recommended the book to many of my friends. My mother
read it too and loved it.

I'm glad you have discovered some peace now in your
life and I hope if you ever do go back to Vietnam
(maybe you have already) that the trip goes well for
you and serves a positive purpose.

Very best wishes for the future,

      James Halford,
      Dublin,
      Ireland

I wonder if we can get a free moving batting cursor this year. I mean its only been in the series for over a decade.

          Hi Christian,

Thanks for the timely response. There is a lot of chatting on the baseball gaming boards about this game, but many are tentative about purchasing it with all the bugs in the game. Here are the biggest complaints.

          1. The passed ball glitch. Way too many passed balls.

          2. No bunting by CPU team in classic swing mode. Only bunting by CPU in KZone.

          3. Problem with double positions in lineups, for example, two shortstops, pitcher batting third, etc.

          4. With two out and a runner on second the pitcher usually walks the next batter if the pitcher is due up next.

          5. On what appear to be routine catches by an outfielder the ball will mysteriously bounce behind him.

          6. The pitching is too fine. It's very difficult to throw a ball to a batter unless you deliberately throw one. In other words has it been coded into the pitching that the pitchers accuracy is not always spot on. If you play a game you will see that when you pitch you can throw almost ALL strikes to the CPU. No variance.

          7. The fielding camera angle needs to be higher when the ball is hit by the CPU.

I think most of the gamers agree that this could be the top baseball game with a few things fixed. Again, really appreciate the response.

          Jim;

I figure this will give us an indication.
          Hey Jim,
Can I please have their email address? I want to send them a message also.

          Thanks

You can do it through 2ksports.com. I don't know, perhaps let's see if we can get a simple response to this one. Don't want to scare them away prior to the game coming out in, what 5 days? I think if we overload them they just flat out won't answer. Maybe I'm wrong though??

I dont think you wanna scare them away but the game is coming so soon i would guess they would fix every glitch in the game , The two problems that bothered me the most is the Defense just being way to good and making miracle catches all the time, And The stats being all screwed up in Franchise mode

Still no word on this game huh? I'm definately kind of leary now about getting it now.

You have to figure that they fixed all of the bugs. Why would they re-release the game with the 4 new WS features and not fix the bugs that plagued MLB2K5 earlier in the year.

If they didn't fix the issues this time around, they will get hit hard in the spring when people don't purchase MLB2K6 because of this. As much as this game is not being marketed, I think there is a lot riding on how well public perception is going to be. VC would be stupid to kill themselves with this by not fixing the problems.

We already know that they do patrol the OS forums for each of their games. They do fix the bugs that people complain about as we never see the same bug repeated the following year. Let's hope this is all fixed.

I tried the PS2 version a month ago and I thought the game was cool. I've been getting bored of the MVP series so this will be like playing a fresh game of baseball. I can even bet that this version is to replace the regular edition of MLB2K5 due to all of the bugs.

That's what I figure. Impossible to believe otherwise -- they can't be that incompetent. MLB 2K5 out of the box is the buggiest, most broken sports game I’ve played. No way they will release a game like that TWICE.

I am crossing my fingers and hoping all is well with the game.

Well, I don't know. I hope you are 100% right. Look at the big chance MLB2006 took by touting their game. Full of bugs! Don't we get buggy games every year? I don't get it, but again, I hope you're right.

I'll be picking it up. I heard nothing back from my second letter stating some of the fixes, so unless I hear something Monday, an answer, after asking me what I'd like to see fixed, isn't coming. I'm putting my faith (again) in these developers.

I played a game yesterday (forget which slider settings I used), but had a great game. Here's hoping.......................

We need to remember that there is no way that a company like VC is going to re-release a game with the same bugs that plagued the game the first time around. I can see maybe 1-2 bugs slipping through but not the same ones over again.

If VC does this than they will be doomed come MLB2K6.

I'm trying to think positive about this.
