I don't know. I saw way too many intentional walks in the game.

      Thanks for doing this jim.

By the way, guys, #4 is a real glitch. It even happens in American League games. With two out and a runner on any base the pitcher would walk the #8 batter.

The more I hear about the glitches in this game the more I don't want to purchase an updated version. (Developer Answer: Uhhhhhh, what glitches)

Well, some of the glitches were fixable by the gamer. They did admit that they had addressed some issues, so I don't think that's a "what glitches" answer from them.

I think purchasing the game with the guys here will rest on the type of answer I get from them. The game HAS to be ready to go. It's just next week until it's released. So I could get an email back confirming somethings, or, not get a response at all (which would pretty much tell the tale).

          Let's wait and see.

I can't believe that you didn't talk about the problem with most of the Western division teams... where they don't have many (or any) night games.

Can you ask him about that?

            Thanks.

Well, I didn't want to overload the person who responded, or scare them off. I think if they respond positively to some of these things it's a good sign.

If you're disappointed, email them, but if I sent an entire laundry list I don't think they would respond. I don't even know if they'll respond to what I sent them.

LOL well the last two aren't really glitches. Those were just the ways that the game was designed.

hey jim416, maybe a link to the bugs list would have been in order, i myself don't think i'd be able to list all the bugs in the game w/o getting writers cramp

                    Blzer,

No offense man, but I'm trying to help here. Why the complaints? Aren't you even sort of glad someone took the initiative to find out if they've done some "fixing", regardless of what it is? And, yes, the last two aren't glitches, but wouldn't you like to see a better fielding camera? Wouldn't you like to see some balls coded into the pitching by the gamer? I didn't want this to turn into a 'geez, why didn't you do this' kind of thread. You still have time to email them.

Sask, I doubt very seriously if they would take the time to go through all of these. I have a feeling they've probably already looked at the complaints, after the game came out, and know what they are. What will be interesting is if they cared enough to fix them, or give us an idea if they fixed anything.

I thought this email would just give us some idea.

Actually, I could really care less about almost all of the bugs for this World Series Edition. They most certainly aren't stopping me from playing this game.

Sorry if I sounded rude, here... I really didn't mean to. I was just suggesting something. I am happy with what you're doing... it really shows that you have some initiative to please us more than they have been thus far.

But, like I have said many times before... I was a moderator at 2K Sports, so I may know just the least bit over you guys. The main thing that I understand over you guys is that this is not MLB 2K5.5... this is just a World Series Edition. This isn't an upgraded version of the last game, so that's why I said what I said about the last two things that you said.

Besides, while everybody would just enjoy a higher and more zoomed out fielding camera, there isn't anything that's taking away from the gameplay... just from the beauty.

The day/night thing is a bug. It is a problem... something that shouldn't be happening. More so, it cannot be fixed.

Passed balls were fixed with sliders. Rosters/lineups, while the fixes are very annoying, are plausible, and possible. Double switches are a problem... I'm glad you brought that up (or did you?). I forget the other things that you discussed, but they may be able to be patched (and from what the guy said, I think and hope that they have been).

I just suggested one thing... didn't mean to bring up a little hissy-fit or anything. I'm sorry about that.

IMO, like I have said many times, this game's target customer is not for the people that bought the game the first time... and many of those people aren't people like us that spot bugs. A lot of them are 12 year old kids that like to pitch as their favorite pitcher in the World Series, or whatever. Others may be classy guys... they want to play it for the historical aspect. IMO, the bigger questions are whether or not they'll actually make this World Series Edition very World Series-like. That's their biggest addition to the game. Better yet, that's what the game is for.

MLB 2K6 is for everything else... graphics, gameplay, probably even bug patches. I can't tell you for sure. One thing that I know is that bugs did not stop me from playing this game. How can you tell? The bugs are there, and I'm still playing it as much as I have since I first bought it, maybe even more than then. Not a lot of people on any message board for any game can say that.

A lot of people on here did not get this game because of bugs that can be, with some annoyance, fixed. I honestly don't understand that one bit. A lot of people say that they loved this game and would have owned it, but there are annoying bugs. What about MVP Baseball 2004? Left-handed players would topspin their hits (resulting in heavy dropping action), little to zero balls thrown by each team, rookies improperly progressing, early retirements for irrelevant reasons (or if you want to say "personal"), etc. Yet, almost everybody on here could avoid those things and still call it theirs to own. I call bull****, and I have for a long time (I made a thread about it a long time ago).

There must be something else in this game that people don't like that they aren't saying... be it they're making an excuse with the bugs and don't like something else, or they are fanboys of another product.

If the bugs are seriously the biggest problem why nobody bought it the first time around (and why people "say" that they'll buy this one if they're fixed, which I doubt they are), then I ask what made MVP 2004's inevitable bugs were just so shallow and dim that you could seriously play a franchise mode with the game.

                        Sorry for the long rant.

Cool, just when you said "I can't believe you didn't....." that rubbed me wrong. No problem. I think people are just ticked at getting buggy baseball games every year, whether it be MVP, or MLB2006 (a bugfest itself). No harm in trying to put a little pressure on these people, that's why I sent the email, but I didn't want to turn them off. The game is a good game, but it's really "to each his own" as to whether they will play the game for a long period of time. I went back to HH2k4 PC because I didn't like KZone and there was NO bunting by the AI in classic swing mode. Simple as that. I wanted to see bunting.

Truth is we have no idea at all what we'll get next week.

do you think this game will allow you to download currect season and stats from 2k5....I like to play most of the season games and I'd hate to have to start over at the beginning of the season....

Haven't a clue, really. I didn't get a response today, so maybe Monday. I guess the game is released next Wednesday? So time is getting short. If they don't respond to anything, then it doesn't sound good for hopes of some fixes.

Why not? It's a simple programming-coding issue. Plus it works already with other teams. What “cannot be fixed”? Good grief, if they’re incapable of fixing that, PLEASE DON’T TOUCH THE REST OF THE GAME. Because MLB 2K5 plays okay now, and I’d be afraid they’d screw it up further, if the programmers are in fact so incompetent and useless

It doesn’t matter to me anyway. I won’t be buying it. I spent probably 200 hours editing my current rosters, and I have no intention of starting that process over again. The fact is, the game simply does not play a very good game of baseball unless player ratings are significantly edited and altered – much like ASB and the work Jim etc. did with that game.

But what really finalized my decision: I saw that pic of Dennis Eckersley on the 2K site, the one with the SHORT HAIR!? Sorry, but no true baseball fan-programmer in a million bloody years would allow such blasphemy. On top of that, they slap that pic on the front page of their site!? Sure I could take Craig Wilson of the flowing locks and turn him into Eck, but I can do that already in MLB 2K5. WE9 will be coming out in a while: I’ll save my $ for that.
