I played MLB 2K5 WS EDITION

I went to the DIGITALIFE EXPO here in NYC. 2KSPORTS had playable kiosk of their games. WS EDITON was 1 of those games. I didn't get real time in. Basically the game felt the same & played the same. For those who loved SEASON MODE they have scrapped that feature from the WS EDITION.

They did add a feature called Manager Situation. The same animations were still in the game.. I spoke to a rep from 2ksports & asked if the BUGS were fixed on the newer version. He had no clue, but said that KUSH did fix things within the game...

I personally was not excited from what I saw. Hopefully a full review of this game will change my mind...

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! No season mode? Is this game just supposed to be a kind of short playoff set up with different teams?

NO SEASON MODE!?!?! Do they still have Franchise/GM Career? If they don't I will never by another 2K Sports game again! This is a rip!

Sounds alright to me. Hopefully we'll see some previews before the game releases.

I highly doubt they'll show anything as they haven't thus far.

I'm thinking this game might be a dirty little secret. I don't care if they fixed the bugs if we are just relegated to playing some type of playoff stuff. I guess we might find out that is truly where the World Series Edition gets its name.

Hopefully we'll see some previews before the game releases

Today is Saturday, tomorrow Sunday and the game is released on Tuesday. I don't think we can expect any last minute previews. Could be wrong, but you'd think they'd be out by now.

Well, seen all this stuff a long time ago. BigJoe says no season play, but this says there's franchise mode? Is that right?

Pennant Fever Mode - 2 games out or 8 games out, take your favorite MLB franchise all the way to the World Series®. Team standings are locked in to match the real-life ’05 Pennant Race!

Somebody explain how this works? Take your favorite team all the way? From when? The beginning of the season? Don't really understand how this will work.

Best Franchise in the Business - Dive into the nuts and bolts of franchise management as you scout and track minor league talent, take on GM Mode and even compete multi-player as the best franchise mode in the business gives you all the options you need to create a big league powerhouse.

Took out season, but left in franchise? I can live with that, but I still want to see somebody independent take a look at this game before it's released, but I don't think that's going to happen. Maybe I'll be surprised Monday and will see a "hands on" posted somewheres.

Jim, I highly doubt it. We will get a more hands on preview or review from a fellow OSer before any sites do. VC has been keeping this underwraps. I have called EB Games and they get this game on Wednesday.

Gamestop and Gamecrzy aren't even going to carry this because I called them and they said that it's not in their computer.

Re: I played MLB 2K5 WS EDITION

Franchise mode is in the game. Pennant Fever Mode I didn't play it. World Series Mode takes about 20 WS moments from 1900 til present... & allows you the chance to re-create the game.

Again I didn't play to long. I just played a couple of innings in with my son. They did remove the ESPN logo's from the interface.

I'm on the fence with this-1 unless I hear a review that WOW's me.

I was really looking forward to this title.... Yesterday left me kind-of dissapointed

Hey Bigfnjoe96, I was wondering what your overall impression of the Digital Life expo was (outside of getting to play World Series edition). Was the show worth checking out in your opinion? I have a ticket to go to the Digital Life expo in NYC today, but I'm not sure I feel like commuting to the city (I live in upstate NY so it's about a 90 minute train ride each way). I would love to try WSE myself, but I don't want to go just for that. The round trip train ticket would actually cost me more than just waiting until Tuesday and just buying the game in order to check it out. But since I am a bit of a tech-head, I am curious if it would be worth the trip anyway. Were you able to get any hands on with the XBOX 360? Also, I know you said that the ESPN logos are gone, but is Joe Morgan & John Miller's commentary still in the game? Any info on this is appreciated, thanks.

I actually had a nice-time. They have many booths with different computer & electronic stuff. Microsoft is there with the xbox360. @ their booth they do presentations on the functionality of the 360. They also show some gameplay footage from Project Gotham Racing 3 & KAMEO.

Unfortunately there are no playable 360's @ the show, but I'll tell ya the 360 is an UNBELIEVABLE MACHINE.... I'm sold on it & will be picking-it up @ launch..

The show is not over-whelming in reference to OMG I have to go to this. It is a nice way to see some new stuff & you won't feel like you wasted your time if your into gadgets

                            Hopefully this is helpful..

Hmmm, don't think I'll be picking this one up. I didn't enjoy MLB2K5 and it doesn't sound like they changed much - as was expected. Hopefully they can make some strides on MLB 2K6 to shore up the gameplay for next year.
