I agree to a point...but you know damn well that every year regarding the bug issues with ALL baseball sims, that collectively on ALL gaming boards there are tons of die-hards (or pretenders) who if you didn't know any better, are simply shills for the respective developers.

Look at MLB 2006 for example...with some of the MADNESS (that's what I said) associated with that game, how in anyone's good conscience can ANYONE say, 'the game plays great'?!?!? WTF?!?!?

The real question at hand? Are TOO MANY people 'settling' instead of being TRULY satisfied? Because as with most products on this planet, when the masses settle, it's business as usual/status quo everyday....

If there was brand "loyalty" the glitch/bug threads would be silent. They aren't. Look at ASB, for an example, and the hunched over fielders. They knew good and well about this and when a developer was asked if they had gotten rid of them he said, "mostly". Well, look at the last game. It's was still there when the game came out.

Gaming is individual preferences and what you can live with. They're all full of bugs, but can you live "with the lefty bug", "with the no bunt bug", "with the game freezes"? It depends on the gamer.

MLB 2006 is a great game, but it is completely broken. It is a shame.

MVP 2005 was cool, but just got boring.

I'm left to check out MLB2K5:WSE since I only had played a few games on the regular edition from earlier this year. This is the first year where I haven't been able to fully enjoy a football and baseball game. Everytime that I play ESPN NFL 2K5 I think of what could have been this year. With baseball we have a chance that MLB2K5:WSE will clear up the issues to end the year on a good note.

Ain't that the truth. I got this game out the other night and got ticked at the developers again, so I put it away, lol. This game SHOULD have been all we needed, but, alas.........

I'm going through baseball gaming withdrawals right now, so I'm looking for any "fix" I can get. I'm even updating the last ASB2005 roster I did a month or so ago.

Baseball addiction is a sad thing. Tell your kids so they don't suffer like we do...

MLB2006 was the complete package and 989 had to screw it all up. The game wasn't perfect, but it was damn near.

Baseball and Football addiction is bad. Yes, I'm trying to teach my kids about sports as much as possible even though they are really young.

I thought franchise mode was in but season mode was not?

Yes, that was my understanding. If franchise AND season mode are out of the game I won't even bother to open it when I get it. I'll be returning it.

Best Franchise in the Business - Dive into the nuts and bolts of franchise management as you scout and track minor league talent, take on GM Mode and even compete multi-player as the best franchise mode in the business gives you all the options you need to create a big league powerhouse.

We know that Franchise is supposed to be in, but I'm not too sure about Season. I can understand somewhat as to why 2KSports/VC hasn't really made much of an announcement.

Companies in the past when their games have gone to greatest hits or platinum status have fixed bugs in their game upon re-release. I remember

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

They fixed the extemely long load times, framerate issues, and a few other known bugs for the greatest hits version on the PS2. IGN was the only site that had reported the news initially.

I am looking at this version of MLB2K5: WSE the same as CB:WOC. It gives
2KSports the opportunity to fix the game as if it were being released as part of the Greatest Hits and Platinum lines. Since we know sports games aren't released again under these labels than we just need to treat this game the same way.

I take it as 2K is giving us 2 new modes, 2K Presentation replacing ESPN, Updated Rosters, a MLB DVD, and fixing most of the bugs. I would consider this as a Greatest Hits re-release to fix the problems and update the game.

I hope I'm not wrong since I will have a bunch of pissed off people. J/K

I'm just taking a stab here with how releases like this have worked in the past with other games. When things are fixed in greatest hits/platinum editions, it's confirmed by a site like IGN but that is it than. I highly doubt we will see an abundance of reviews for this game. I guess the people that buy this on Wednesday will be able to report quicker than any site will.

VC may have also released this so they could replace the previous version with a less buggy game. Obviously VC is not going to come out and tell us that they let their QA dept slip with the bugs in any of their games. I work for a publishing company where we create and distribute our online content called cartridges for Blackboard and WebCt which are course management systems. Sometimes there are errors in the cartridges that passed QA without anyone noticing. You get crazy stuff like this all the time.

We know that VC is good about giving their fans what they want. It's VC, they fix the bugs from last year only to create new ones. Let's hope that nothing new creeps up with this release with bugs.

Well, I should have something posted midday of its release. If people want to hold off I'll give an honest eval of the game. I'm hopeful.
