Re: Official "Where is it?", "Who has it?", "When will it arrive?" Thread
I figure I can play 2K6 until November/December. That still leaves me with couple weeks of decent weather to get the house work done before the snow starts up. No worries.Originally posted by jim416

April 24th, hmmmm. Almost May. XBOX360, not everyone has one, a baseball game, not the most popular of games. This might go the way of last years WSE.
I personally don't think it's getting delayed to get it right. I think they just aren't done. And done doesn't mean fixed. This late is not going to help sales. Word gets around, baseball types will go out and buy a PS2 to get their fix (The Show) rather than wait for a game that MIGHT be good.
My XBOX 360 is standing by, but honestly, I'm not expecting much.Comment

They might surprise us one year. In fact, the laws of chance say at some point they HAVE to put out a glitch-free game, by accident if necessary.Originally posted by joebooBecause they're going to release it later and it will still be buggy. That's 2K's motto.
Personally I'd rather have it sooner because once football season rolls around, this game will probably hit the shelf and never be played again.
And c'mon... football season? We're talking a couple weeks' delay. That still leaves... oh, several months of baseball gaming.Comment

My guess is they are delaying it to add the WBC, but by the time the game comes out no one will care about the WBC anymore."My favorite word in English is 'youneverknow.'" - Joaquin AndujarComment

Hmmm... well, that last statement is a leap IMO.Originally posted by jim416April 24th, hmmmm. Almost May. XBOX360, not everyone has one, a baseball game, not the most popular of games. This might go the way of last years WSE.
And no doubt most gamers still have a current-gen Xbox, so they can still get their fix. You're really talking about a handful of gamers who have a 360, a small handful of which are even interested in baseball. Again, we're talking two-week delay here, not USA losing the WBC.Comment

I never cared about it. That is, until I heard 4 days ago Canada had a team, then I cared. That is, until the next day when I heard Canada was eliminated. Then I didn't care anymore again.Originally posted by stripmallpMy guess is they are delaying it to add the WBC, but by the time the game comes out no one will care about the WBC anymore.Comment

Re-reading you post Jim, I now see your point about "almost May". The game's already being released late, something I haven't really been taking into consideration.Originally posted by baa7Again, we're talking two-week delay here, not USA losing the WBC.Comment

LOL...sorry, couldn't help it. Anyway, hopefully both games are good this year.Originally posted by DMB82They might as well cancel the PS2 version, no one's going to buy it with The Show being out and it being stellar.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

This is absolutely ridiculous. No one wants a buggy game, but they also don't want the game out after Opening Day (it's listed at 4/10 on GameStop.com)!
I was fine with the late March release. That's perfectly fine with me, it's close to Opening Day but still before. We were getting spoiled with earlier release dates. But after Opening Day? Complete joke.
I've lost a ton of respect for 2K Sports right now.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

You know what I expect for this game is a bunch of damn bugs.... Another delayed 2kSports title that will be Full of bugs... So whats the delay for?? You guys might as well release the game because I am sure this time is not going to be used to iron out the bugs....

I was hyped up about this game...well...relatively...because it has the option for meter fielding and pitching, and the franchise mode looked much improved. I was also pumped about the potential for the realistic feel that the announcers would add to the game. I saw problems here and there that I know I could live with...but 4/10?Originally posted by rawdog805You know what I expect for this game is a bunch of damn bugs.... Tha'ts the straw that breaks the camel's back. My birthday is on the 24th. Right before the season starts, I know. Lucky me! Well...not this time..I was expecting about 4 days of impressions on the game...or at least 3 or 2 before I got the game, to help me decide if I should really get it. Now? Listen. I'm getting an MLB Baseball video game on my birthday no matter what. It's just a fact at this point. I've grown accustomed to it. I long for this time of year, the week before the season starts, the time when I really start my love affair with Baseball all over again each year. It prepares me for the season. Call me greedy, I just love it.
However....per usual....the 2k series keeps pushing back the release date...over...and over...and over again. The hype over this game is so infintesimal (I would guess all over the country) that it makes me wonder just what the hell they were thinking? The only hope they had at making any money was releasing it BEFORE the season started. Now? Well...now they're screwed...
and now I'm getting The Show. You had your chance, 2k. I know one guy isn't much to worry about generally. Not to mention, If your game is really as good as you seem to have faith in it for, maybe I'll be eating my words. However, when only a few people are even remotely excited for this game, it doesn't spell much if any success for your series. You're really trying your hardest to make all the same mistakes that ASB made, aren't you? I feel sorry for the developers, because if this game is anywhere near as bad as it has the potential to be, it won't sell at all. Even if the game is ********* and ends up being the hit of the year, the one every true hardcore fan reverts to, you're still not going to convert the "now and then" fans. The real question will be whether or not 2k can regain all the money they spent on the exclusivity deal before the contract is up.
I kid, I kid. It might only take them 4 or 5 years at this rate. If they're lucky.Comment

Some good points there. Man, the late release dates???? Even for the XBOX. I guess they're just putting all their marbles into the fact that they've got the only game for the XBOX/Gamecube and 360. I dunno.
2k, it's gettin' late people.Comment

Guess what? 2K is doing the same type of stuff.Comment

Well, they just made it easy for me next week. I'll be buying Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for the PC. Did'nt want to spend money for both next week...guess I don't have to worry about it now. Hopefully they put that extra month to good use like cleaning up some of the animations. That would make it worth it to me.Comment
