That compared to 2K5/2K6? Much improved. Yet, it's still not great, and I know it. No more looking like this at contact point:

    Or striding like this:

    Or finishing off like this:

By the way, after seeing the video again and again, it appears as though that stride is indeed Jeter-specific. Matsui and the Angels batter have much smaller strides (and are indeed more generic).

Perhaps every player that has a specific stance also has a specific stride? Hopefully! That would definitely lead to better transitions in animations.

Theres definitely an improvement there, but they obviously haven't added signature follow throughs. That looks nothing like Jeters 2 handed follow through swing. He's suppose to snap the bat back in front of him after he completes his swing. I guess I'm nitpicking, but with the next gen systems I expected that kind of realism. At the very least couldn't they include 4 or 5 different generic follow throughs, with one being the 2 handed?

Maybe its not Jeter? Could it be A-Rod?

I could be dead wrong, but its just a guess. It does kind of look like A-Rod's swing.

One thing I feel hurts this video is it going from slow motion to normal. I think that gives the appearance that the game runs choppy in the animation dept.

If you look at the faster portions of the video, the game seems pretty fluid, and given 2K's committment to 60fps, that's going to help.

Like many have said, you can't get a feel about gameplay from this vid, but I do think the game looks a lot better.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

GREAT job on the gif. That was the #1 thing that caught my eye from the trailer, though it was quick, finally a realistic stride into a swing. Brinkman said they were going to nail some of the intricate details like accessories, hats, etc. Notice the Juan Pierre picture that not only is he holding his gloves, but, he's also wearing his regular hat under his batting helmet? He's one of the only players that does that, and they got it. Very cool touch. I also like the Soriano screen, right down to the forearm sweat band, eye black and his bat is exactly like the real thing. And man, the player faces are NOTHING like last year, they are way, way better. I couldn't believe how real the Schmidt picture looked, or the shot of Santana, not only his face but the finger out of the glove, man, they really are taking the next step. Come on March 5th!

Oh, and one more thing - they did have realisitc scoreboards in last year's game. You could notice it when they did the trivia on the scoreboards, and you could see the team's actual in-game lineup posted on the scoreboard, but yeah, they got that right last year, at least as long as the scoreboard was digitized.

Exactly. That's what I was trying to say earlier about a "canned video". We saw a few of these last year and for other games as well. It's not in game footage so I think it's pretty tough to get a good feel for the game.

I could be mistaken as it's been a LONG time since I played 2K6 on the 360, but I thought that was pretty close to what the 360 versions swing looked like?

Nice pictures and comparisons. I think there is a huge improvement on what bothered me most, the swing follow through. The old swing follow through is just ridiculous, the batter looks like a contortionist.
