Re: New short gameplay video!!!
I'm excited. I'm sold on the game already and I haven't bought a 2k baseball game in years. You can tell that a lot of work has went into the title. From the videos, it appears night and day better than last year. It may play like junk, but I am going to pay 60 bucks to find out on March 5. I am craving next gen baseball bad. I just hope that you can turn off the "clutch" or whatever it's called. Also, couldn't you fix the throwing with sliders?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: New short gameplay video!!!
I'm not sure that the ground has anything to do with it. It looks like the ball physics are a little screwy. Those are things that should be fixed on next gen. They could also mo cap the actual baseball to fix things such as this.NFL: Tennessee Titans

Umm... a lot of people? How is it impossible to make that throw?
If you've ever played outfield past JV Baseball, you would know (especially throwing down the line) that that throw is 7/10, at least.
Here's that gif anyway:
But you see my problem with the friction? Though he's 200 - 225 feet away from home plate or so, his ball takes one hop about 80 feet away from the catcher. If that were a real throw, it would probably take three or four bounces (if not begin rolling) and slow down more and more after each hop. But to say that throw "rocketed" is a mistake.Comment

maybe they won't be greyed out this year. Maybe we will hear about the complete list of sliders before the game is dropped.NFL: Tennessee Titans

Re: New short gameplay video!!!
Now I know what you're thinking... well then blame the ball's gravity, right? No, it seems as though rocket arms and such are fixed this year. Plus, if you give it weight as if it were on Jupiter, nothing would sail over the infield dirt. So what needs to be fixed? Well, the ball hitting the ground acts as if it's a superball on cement (I know I haven't made that analogy before). I know that it's not included in the gif, but if you see the video again, look at how high the ball bounces up to the outfielder. A ball on grass, no matter how short (which I think MLB grass height is about 1/2 - 1 inch tall) should not surface like that.
And again, it all goes back to the forces. If they want, they can make the bat's "force" much more to act as an aluminum bat, and then the ball will go off quicker. They don't animate the ball to go a certain speed off of the bat, it's just from the bat is all. Same goes with the ground. This isn't even a plausible bounce for a baseball on dirt.
Like I said, this is presumably an old version, and I'm going to guess that Brinkman can't let this slide. If he does, he better get it fixed next year when I'm seriously contemplating getting a 360 or a PS3.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: New short gameplay video!!!
Well, that one took about 20 minutes to do. I had to first figure out how in the hell I could capture one portion of the video (I mean just a 200 x 200 instead of the original 290 x 235), which was hard to do based on my experience with creating gifs. I have a feeling I'm not doing them right, actually. If they take that long, I think I haven't exactly learned any shortcuts to creating gifs.
Can someone that knows how to create them tell me whether I'm doing something wrong that makes me take so long to create these?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: New short gameplay video!!!
Honestly, shouldn't the third baseman be cutting that ball off anyway, especially if there is a runner rounding 1st he is on his way to 2nd if the ball acts realistically and bounces 3 or 4 times? That is one thing that always drove me crazy with the 2K baseball series. They didn't have the proper cutoff rotation or players backing up where they should at all. Heck, the pitcher covered 2nd and 3rd base in 2K5 on balls hit to the OF. I want to see a game that shows the pitcher headin' to back up 3rd with no one on or a runner on first and headin' to back up home with a runner on 2nd.
It should have been the 3B be cut-off, the SS covering 3rd, and the pitcher back up Home. With it being how it is, there's no cut-off man, and runners will be taking second base all day. But notice the speed of LaRue, and that he can't take that base. At least baserunning speed looks much better.Last edited by Blzer; 01-09-2007, 12:05 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
