Not true....Foul ground room is not a little cosmetic error, it in fact makes the entire fields dimensions wrong in total circumference and does have a lot of things to do with game play
#1 Outs not recorded on foul pop ups because of a major difference in foul ground area
#2 Fair balls down the lines will carom different off the side walls because the field shape in the game has less foul ground and hugs the lines and in real life the field shape is more jagged and the ball can bounce off the corners effecting hit outcomes
Tell me that doesn't have anything to do with actual game play

I could be completely wrong, but it looks to me like in last year's game, they used the "cookie cutter" method on Busch Stadium, so to speak. Looks like they took elements of existing stadiums and melded them together to make their own version of Busch. For example, the foul territory and the way the stands wrap around in LF and RF look eerily similar to Dodger Stadium.Oh, no doubt. Stadiums look damn right gorgeous! But, you know... it's things like when Busch Stadium looks like this in real life:

But in the game looks like this:

The stadium can look beautiful... but when there's that whole "authenticity" feel of the stadium that people crave... sometimes it's just not there like other games have it.
(If anybody decides to say these two stadiums look the same, then I've lost all hope)
Who knows why they might of done this (maybe lack of dev time since Busch wasn't even completed when this game was being developed?), but hopefully it will be fixed for this year. Because I agree...stadium accuracy is important.Last edited by Drew127; 01-30-2007, 05:31 PM.Comment

lt me know how many times a foul ball messes up your game & for every time it does i'll send you a dollar for every mess up.Not true....Foul ground room is not a little cosmetic error, it in fact makes the entire fields dimensions wrong in total circumference and does have a lot of things to do with game play

Oh ok, I found the video you were talking about with the Shea footage. That would be the 2nd official trailer that was released. Well all I can tell you bro, is that if you want the most accurate representation of Shea Stadium, then get Sony's The Show 07. Their attention to stadium detail is MUCH better than what 2K usually offers. Which I'm sure will improve to an even greater degree when the PS3 ver of The Show is released.actually the only clip that i have seen that shows shea stadium is the trailer where noone is talking.so i have no clue what your talking about. it shows a double play with the "new animations" and then it shows beltran sliding in the OF making a catch. which looked darn good, just the stadium didnt change from 2k6. i dont understand why this is so hard to grasp. nooone here worked on the game so i cant understand why ppl get so offended when i critisize something. it makes no sense
I'm looking forward to both games, but I'm just telling you which one has the best stadiums....... in case you've never tried Sony's game.Comment

Ill prob end up with both same as every year lol, I have to get every game every year for baseball. i dont really think 2ks representation is "way off" or unacceptable, i mean i was hoping for more, but when am i not, and who isnt. i just didnt like how they claimed all stadiums were redone or enhanced and i truly dont see a difference in shea is all.Comment

valid point?
are the dimensions of the stadiums THAT FAR OFF?!
don't bother showing me last years screen of busch--that itself is "bush league" (ha ha ...thank you)...show me this years!
look...i'd MUCH RATHER have working /live bullpens even if they are off by 25 feet to the right or left than static bullpens PRECISELY accurateBummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.Comment

Yeah, I usually have to get most baseball games released also. But for the past few yrs it was just strictly MVP & The Show. I haven't bought a 2K baseball game for about 3 yrs now(just rented). So 2K7 will be the first I've purchased from this series in awhile. Thats how much the overall visual improvements & animations have impressed me. So hopefully it'll turn out to be at least a decent game, without any glaring flaws or bugs.Comment

I've been thinking the exact same thing as well. I didn't want to add to some of the animosity, and also wasn't exactly sure it wasn't a screen from 2K7 that I had missed. Glad to see others thinking it's a 2K6 screen too.
Yeah, I think we all need to chill on the stadium crap until the game's released....Peace

The game can't get here soon enough...On the bright side, pitcher and catchers report 10 days from the Superbowl Sunday.

I find this so funny. You have the Show is better than 2k crowd and vice versa. You have the PS3 kicks *** over the 360 and vice verso. Only in America! I love it. It makes me laugh it really does.
And yeah that was priceless comparing how the Stadiums haven't changed from last year. By showing us a last year pic! Only on the Net!

I hope you aren't comparing the stadiums in the Show to the 360 stadiums in 2k7. Maybe the Show's Stadiums in the PS3, but then again we haven't seen them yet.Oh ok, I found the video you were talking about with the Shea footage. ASB had by far the best detail stadiums. They even had an out of town working score board. And the scores were real time score from other teams in your franchise! Now that is detail!
