Last season was horrible for baseball gaming. I'd jump back & forth between 2K6 (360) & "The Show" all the time. I'd be enjoying one game for it's look, the other for it's substance... It really made it hard for me to complete a full season on either platform.

I know how much time you've put in playing, critiquing, & in most cases DEFENDING the 2K series... Keep it up! All of you... keep it up! Kush is getting closer baseball nirvana I think? But W/O some game play reassurances, I'll reserve judgement...

I'll have to agree w/ you on this, especially the part about Blzr. It wasn't too long ago he was defending a game (2k5) that in my mind was close to garbage, especially compared to the competition. Now he's giving constructive criticism when the product is off. The way he defended 2k5, I don't see how anyone could think his rants about the 2k series prove nothing less than a guy who wants a series he desperately enjoyed (to the point of almost delusion at one time, no offense Blzr) to succeed.

No working scoreboard I beg to differ. Look and pause at the 2min 46sec mark of the sound and art video interview and you'll be pleasantly surprised. They look like they work to me!

Also look at the beginning of the In-Depth Interview video with Ben Birkman and in the upper right corner when Big Papi is batting you'll notice a working titantron, awesome. This game really has atmosphere and I love it! Next Gen should be all about immersion and I think this is what this game is going to have it in spades. Here you go 2K Sports, I will gladly hand over my 59.99 + tax for what looks like one hell of a game from the videos alone, I can only imagine what it will be like when I finally get my hands on it the day after my birthday. Happy Birthday to me from 2K Sports, thanks guys and yes I'm hella optimistic that this game will own and this is coming from a guy who couldn't get through one game of MLB 2K6! All hail 2K Sports in 2007, MLB 2K7, Legends Football 2K8, The Bigs (hopefully my Baseball Stars of baseball), NBA 2K8, Boxing 2K8, NHL 2K8, and who the hell else knows what. 2K Sports the saviors of videogame sports!!!

Not even close. They took the Yankee stadium template and used it for Busch. Lazy. I pointed that out last year Blzer and got blasted for it. Guess it's your turn to get kicked this year

Exactly. Sad that people around here jump the guy. The fact is, all we've seen are improved graphics and not much more. Also, the pitching animations are improved. Past that, it's looks like 2K6 - same stilted running/fielding animations; same peculiar swing animations; same laser fly balls to the outfield. Nobody has any idea how it will play or whether we'll be able to get past the third inning without it freezing.

It looks like people are not happy with the Running Animations. Guys you do know that the the Running Animations are Momentum Based. Also you do know that when fielding last year, as the user you were supposed to allow the Running Animation to begin before you took control of the player, this allowed for some fluidity in the Animation... When you don't allow the player to go into animation on their own, you usually got what you say in the video... Herky Jerky Animation..

It takes some getting use-to, because we were all familar with the Turn-Based Animation, when you could turn on a dime & chase a ball down.

Uhhhhhh.... You do realize that the footage of Shea Stadium in the new in-depth interview is from last yrs 2K6 game, right? It would seem you don't, so I think you better watch again & turn up the volume so you can hear what he's talking about. What they were doing was a comparison of the old throwing animations, by showing a clip of 2K6.

I'm not saying that Shea is going to be drastically improved in 2K7. Heck, maybe it'll be exactly the same, but that IS a clip form last yrs game. So your whole stadium rant was seemingly over inconclusive evidence.

actually the only clip that i have seen that shows shea stadium is the trailer where noone is talking.so i have no clue what your talking about. it shows a double play with the "new animations" and then it shows beltran sliding in the OF making a catch. which looked darn good, just the stadium didnt change from 2k6. i dont understand why this is so hard to grasp. nooone here worked on the game so i cant understand why ppl get so offended when i critisize something. it makes no sense

Damn.... you had me excited for a second there! Look at the 1:21 mark in the video... St. Louis is playing the Dodgers in the video but on the scoreboard they are trailing Philly 7-4. The scoreboard appears to have teams and scores on it, it's just that none of them are right. Oh well.

They certainly have re-done the Busch for this year. Look at the very first trailer released this year, about 10-15 seconds in you'll see a panning shot of the outfield towards the right-field line. Much better than last year, especially where the foul pole is in relation to the stands.

I'm taking the moderate stance on the stadium issue. Youre both right to be honest. It is a massive waste of time for devs to spend so much time on stadiums that I can find my exact seat, the fire extinguishers, peanut shells, etc. I agree that its a diminishing return. Make it as accurate as you can, and I can suspend my disbelief (so to speak) enough to enjoy myself.

That said, unlike football, baseball stadiums play a part in the game. The ball interacts with the field and often leaves the field. In Blazers example of the Cards stadium, I kind of agree that they could put a bit more detail into it, but I dont want them 100% perfect if it means spending a shiz load of time to do it, and there are still gameplay issues afoot. Unlike stadium accuracy, there is no diminishing return on improving gameplay. Ever step taken towards making it PLAY LIKE BASEBALL, is an important event.
