I hope that it's not true..but WSB been known to disapoint every year. The last WSB I liked was the very first, and that game had lots of key features missing. I hope we turned the corner with this installment..It's about due I would say, especially since this is the only baseball game on the market for Xbox fans.

It will be playable and that is all that matters to me.

You could see the player run right through 1B in the tiny window on the right top of the screen and then stop about 10 steps past 1B and make a 90 degree turn toward 2B.

The problem wasn't that it was user controlled, but a problem with the logic in terms of when guys should round 1B and when they should run through it.
Are we saying two different things?

The runner was user-controlled and my hunch is the user didn't tell the runner to go to second base.

I do agree that a runner should round 1B automatically on a play to the outfield (I'm assuming this is what you are getting at). The only thing I can come up with is that isn't programmed into the game.

However, it still shouldn't stop a player from getting to 2B. The user should have told the guy to go to second the minute he saw the ball in the gap. Then again, we've seen the user miss easy fly outs in the videos. I don't know if it's the same guy, though it sure looks like it.

My guess is that the vids we are seeing are coming from 2k and perhaps they are video catches of the beta testing guys doing crazy fielding/running mistakes to find out what's wrong with the game. At least, I hope it is because those user controlled players are doing some ridiculous things.

that's it? There's an understatement if I ever heard one. To each his own...since you seem to be a big fan, please confirm if there is a fantasy draft?

I think we're partially saying the same thing, but maybe I didn't explain what I saw last year well enough.

The problem last year was this... I'm controlling the hitter and I hit a ball into the gap. Before I even reached first base, I'd hit the button to tell the runner to go to 2B. Instead of rounding the base when the runner got ther, the runner would run through 1B and about 10 steps down the right field line THEN do a 90 degree turn to 2B and head that way. In other words, despite me telling the runner to go to 2B, the runner acted like he had to beat out an infield hit. By the time the runner decided to go to 2B, too much time was wasted and I'd often have to send the runner back to 1B because I knew he wouldn't make it to 2B. This didn't happen every time, but it did happen a lot and IMO seemed to be a problem with the code/logic.

I'm just hoping that wasn't the case in the video and was simply user error, but it looked eerily similar to what I saw last year.

dude im not trying to cause conflict here, i dont get it. did i say stadiums suck? or that they werent good? no I said they didnt appear to be "redone" from last years version and i showed some proof. i mean the basic root of my prob w/this is that shea is untouched which angers me but im not going to not point out what ppl say if i feel they are wrong. nor am i going to turn away from someone who offers up evidence that i am wrong. if theres anything out there showing ppl that stadiums are re done, id like to see it, i will tell you im wrong. im not debating for the sake of it or to be a jerk or to hurt anyones feelings.

That hardly qualifies you as objective in regards to Renegades views. Now If memory serves me correctly, Renegade is a big fan of MVP, I think he might have done a few mods over at MVPmods. I used to play the heck out of MVP 2004, left hand HR bug and all. (PC) I used all of the mods that mas places like Shea look really great. And, If I may digress, I am mad as heck about NFL2k5 being gone due to stupid exclusive deals, but it's over and done.

My point is this, It's more than fair to have a little trepidation about MLB2k7. Considering the fiasco that was last year. But come on. This is the whineist nitpickfest, worse than the Madden board after the NFL2k thing. What should 2k do? They've admitted that last year sucked and Mr. Magoo could see how much things have improved. Now is it the Show? Nope, 2k7. Is it MVP? Nope but they've hired the MVP wonderkid. Is this title taking a lot of hate for no reason? Heck yes. Now you seem to want to nitpick about physics and want to be a game designer in freelance. Then we have all the nitpickers about improper seating, which to my recognition you had this big deal about Fenways errors. Give it a rest. If you like the Show, peace. If you want to play MVP 2005 until eternity, peace. If you want to break out High Heat, peace. But this is trolling/crying. And it's not all about how inaccurate the game is to real life. There's a lot of sour grapes in these so-callled objective opinions. Peace.
I'm not complaining about 2K7. I'm pointing out issues in 2K7 (that I'm damn near positive that they didn't have time for) that I'd like to see addressed for 2K8. Again, I'm not complaining about 2K7. I'm setting up a wish list for 2K8. When I'm pointing out something is incorrect, I'm getting hate for "complaining".

Again, I'm not complaining. As people may know, I don't have a next-gen system, so the odds of me buying this title that I'm pleasing myself over on this side of the connection is remote. That's why I'm jack-happy for 2K8, and I'm just hoping that they go all the way with 2K8 in these regards.

I'm not going to get into any debates and stuff, but I loved what I saw. It is a night and day difference from last year....except for the baserunning that MJB pointed out. The thing I like the most is the direction of the series. There is a plan and I see immediate improvement.

The team did exactly what I was hoping they'd do---not add features...refine the game to be a baseball experience. I hope it plays as good as it looks.

Doesn't OS have a wishlist set up when 2k7 arrives? Why clutter the boards with two different threads? Won't we be reading over again all your concerns you've stated in various threads before the game is out in the wishlist thread?

It seems rather redundant to me.

I agree. There are things that I've seen that still don't look right or that do concern me, but overall, it's night and day from last year. The game looks better to me and I can finally see the direction that MLB2K is heading. Still keeping my fingers crossed that the gameplay is good!

Sure, but even if it isn't that great in the gameplay department. It does look like they are going in the right direction. I think it will be like NHL 07. That game is very solid and I think that is how 2k7 will be!
