The hype machine for this game is amazing. With all of these videos and positive talk, this game really better deliver.

PS: It's amazing how young all of the developers look. Seems like everyone in the interviews is under 35.

this game looks really good. This game really needed a ton of new animations. Last year everything just looked strange. From the ball bouncing to the throwing animations. I'm siked.

And what is the deal posting Busch stadium from MLB 2k6 ?? And then complaining. For a game you aren't buying anyway.

It's got to be at least decent in the gameplay department for me to happy. If the gameplay isn't decent or is riddled with bugs.....it's useless to me. What's the point of playing something that looks all pretty, but plays horrible? I'm not wasting my time on that. It's like the pretty girl in high school or college that was as dumb as a box of rocks. Sure, she was fun for a few nights, but trying to talk to her for longer than that was a pain. Gotta have intellect with the beauty.

Like I said, I do think they are going in the right direction and think what we've seen so far looks very good, but can't know for sure until I get a chance to actually play the game. For my money, I want both great gameplay and great animations/graphics.

I agree - and this is something we discussed at length about Madden when the information started streaming in. They did a fantastic job on the stadiums/surroundings which Madden devs talked at length about and it showed, yet the gameplay is completely mediocre/lackluster. EA said they dedicated resources towards all these things stadium-related, and where did it leave us? With a game that looks pretty in screenshots (well, some) and pretty meh in motion. There's nothing wrong with "wanting it all", but it has to be taken into context. Based on what's been said in the two interviews, they worked hard on trying to get nuances about the players right. It's not like the stadiums look horrible from what we can see, yet some are actually complaining about this building missing, or some row of seats shouldn't be there?

No doubt. From everything we have seen, the game looks better. But does it PLAY better? Even from these vids, we haven't seen anything that shows baserunning or fielding has improved. All the throws from the outfield shots are quickly changed to another scene (I think baa brought this up). I want to see a few innings of gameplay!

hey EA, who gives an "F-bomb"...you wasted all that time/energy into a part of the stadium i'll never see when throwing my 88 yard pass off my back foot

so KUSH...DO NOT spend any more time on stadiums...they're fine..focus on gameplay
The only point that I'm going to make here is that stadiums actually affect gameplay in baseball, and their uniqueness shines when you're playing in such a stadium. The same cannot be said for football.

That's all I'm going to say for now.

EA doesn't even get that right. In this year's game they had the Seahawks standing on the wrong sidelines in Qwest Field.

That point doesnt apply here though. Its not like 2k has the dimensions of stadiums wrong or left out the Green Monster. People are complaining about wall colors, picnic areas and seats missing. That has nothing to do with gameplay.

well, in the interview that they did say crowds will react according to the situation, so if there arent enough seats...that could potentially affect the gameplay

but i know what you guys are saying...nit picking at this point is useless...if the game was essentially perfect in the sense of gameplay, we could nit pick on the seat facing the wrong direction in the puple picnic area

The seating is out of the field of play so it doesn't have any affect on game play.

The one thing that still kind of bugs me is that every swing looks like a "pull" swing. When Manny hits the bomb to right center (Next Gen Realism video), his hips open up like he was sitting on an inside fastball and got it. It's just the swing doesn't line up with the hit. It just kind of reminds me of when you see a fielder in a video game step to second and throw to first. The animation just doesn't seem to fit the outcome. But it seems like each player had a basic swing animation and it doesn't really adjust to the location and timing of the pitch. Later in the same video, Manny Homers again to LF and it's the same swing just on a lower pitch.

Along the same lines, but less noticeable and I guess more nit-pickey, when Cano pulls a bomb into the Right center seats a little later on in the same video, they show a side view of his swing and you can see that when he actually makes contact with the ball the bat head is back, which would make it impossible to pull the pitch...again, its something I only noticed because it was in slow motion, but it reminds me a little bit like last year, when you could swing horribly late on a pitch and still find a way to pull the ball.

Again, these are two flaws that I saw, that I didn't see anyone else mention in this thread. Neither of them are game killers, but hopefully they are things that can be adjusted in next years version. All in all, the game looks extremely improved and looks to have a promising future.

After watching the video I am blown away. I like baseball but this might get me more into it. Football is my favorite but EA needs to hand over the license to 2k cause they are utilizing the system to the fullest. Just think if 2k had the NFL it would be game over for EA. EA definetley needs to take notes on how next gen graphics should be and the little details it has.

But in the game looks like this:

The stadium can look beautiful... but when there's that whole "authenticity" feel of the stadium that people crave... sometimes it's just not there like other games have it.

(If anybody decides to say these two stadiums look the same, then I've lost all hope)
Ya I see where your coming from Blzer....I'm sorry but the foul ground area is not even close to accurate and that does effect realism because balls popped up in foul ground in the real Bush stadium have more of a chance of being caught for an out...But in the video game Bush stadium there is far less foul ground around the entire field so those outs will not be recorded because the ball will be in the stands....That's unrealistic

It's important for a game that advertises " ballpark realism" to get a simple obvious thing like foul ground dimensions correct
