Dude I do not push up alot on the stick...I use both Swing and Classic...I played on Legend and now with sliders with "Batting Power" on ZERO...I still see HR's...and its not alot but the basic way to score in this game always come down to a HR...I guess I'd like to see more hit variety etc..Its in the game but the ability to read pitches is so difficult that its hard to put the ball in play when your often guessing where the pitch will be.

I'll be honest...I guess alot on what type of pitch is coming and when you do that with the stick up..Its often OUTTA THERE

I have been finding, I swing at a bad pitch down and out. I hit a weak grounder to second. Ball up and in, perhaps a weak pop up or another weak grounder. Not every pitch feels like a meat pitch. This is one of the best elements of the game, hit variety.

Don't get me wrong..I strill really like the game but as a person who looks for that ultimate simulation experience I think this game makes a valiant effort..It just falls short in a few key departments..and thats understandable..They are on a 3 year plan so I fully understand that ROME was not built in a day.

well if you were to never push up on the swing stick or press up on the L stick when using classic your hr totals would drop by a lot, they put those in for people who like hitting lots of hrs or maybe struggle to do so but if your having no problem hitting hrs you need to change your approach, dude

Re: MLB 2k7 Thoughts & Opinion on the Game

Good posts, but I think this game deserves at least an 8, and imo, an 8.5. It is a lot of fun to play, and despite it's problems, plays a very solid game of baseball. There are a lot worse baseball games than this that got better scores than 6.5-7.0.

I also believe that you get a lot of hit variety with classic swing if you hit the ball where it is pitched. I haven't seen an insane amount of HR's, the most I have hit with the Reds is 5, which is a possibility, especially against a 4th or 5th starter.

If this is a 3 year project a la MVP, then I can't wait until next year!! Until then, MLB 2k7 will keep my baseball fix satisfied!

              Exactly, adjust.

I use classic batting and I guess you're supposed to use the stick to influence grounders, flyballs???? Never touch the thing. Never did with The Show last year either. I base it all on the sliders I use and it was an every game experiment until I found what worked and was comfortable for me.

I really look forward to my one a day game.

I mirror your feelings. I'm not a big baseball fan but this game has dominated my gameplay time since it released. Crackdown, NBA2K7, Gears, Lost Planet... I brought Ghost Recon 2 earlier this week and have yet to play it. The game's just really addictive, despite it's faults. I mostly agree with everything the original poster said about the game's issues, but outside of any League issues that I'm not aware of, most of the game's issues can be tweaked via sliders and options.

I agree w/your point about the camera angles also. More options would be nice, but I've grown to actually like the current fielding camera. And I love the "trail cam" or whatever it is when you get a hit - as well as the baseburner mode. Both really give you a feeling of being on the field. If there's any one thing that may be an issue, it's the game's sort of "implied" system of physics - something common across all VC games. They mostly do a good job with it though. I'd rate the game 8.3 personally; not sure what the original poster would score other games but his score was ridiculously low imo

Re: MLB 2k7 Thoughts & Opinion on the Game

I couldn't disagree more with the criticisms of the pitcher/batter interface. One of the problems I've had with previous baseball games, including MVP, was that it was always too easy for me to paint the corners as a pitcher. A few days ago I switched over to the Zone interface and that, combined with breakpoint pitching, makes it a real challenge to consistently hit my spots, especially as the stamina goes down. When I do give up HRs it's usually because I've missed my spot badly and thrown a meat pitch out over the plate. That's as it should be.

I've been using the swing stick exclusively since I started playing and it's taken me awhile but I've become much more comfortable with it and think it's the only way to go now. It gives me a lot of bat control and I get a good variety of hits from it. I don't hit an excessive amount of HRs but maybe that's because of the sliders tweaks I've made. It is true that the game does require some sliders adjustments out of the box but so what? I consider the flexibility that the sliders in this game provide to be a plus, not a negative.

Personally, I find the pitcher/batter interface in MLB 2K7, when using the zone and swing stick, to be the most challenging and sophisticated interface I've ever used in a baseball game.

Yes, I noticed that. As the pitcher loses his stamina lots of balls fly out of the strikezone.

This game sucks! It sucks all my time away! This game is a blast to play. I can't believe how nervous I get when a good batter comes to the plate. lol Never had that before.

I agree that the game is addictive and for me a score of 6.0 - 7.0 is still pretty darn good...Its just the deeper you get into the game the obvious flaws become even more obviuous. The batter pitcher interface is good..But still needs refining...The player momentum is good..But still needs some tuning...The HR's whether you use classic or Swingstick is just too prevalent.

Keep in mind all my criticism is from a head to head standpoint...I don't play franchise or the CPU so everything I'm talking about is in relationship to the 2 player game head 2 head.

All that being said its the game I'm playing most now...The future looks bright for the game considering how bad 2k5 and 2k6 were...I like where they are going with the game but its very obvious that they stiull have some fine tuning to do. They need to provide more camera options BTW.

Online this is true. However, offline with sliders you will hit hit plenty of flyballs for outs. Unless of course you have assembled a superstar team with everyone being around a 90 overall.

i'm finding a few more getting over the fielders heads for doubles if i keep outfielders speed down to 30 or so.
