progression was in 04....the team chemistry was aight, the managerial AI was bad but not as bad at mlb 2k7, and trades was aight. MVP 05 stll had more features than 2k7, like the minors and spring training and check swing ,and take out slides.
oh yeah the left glitch was 04 also...they got it right in 05.

and yeah all my post are complaints...because there's something to complain about. if you guys are actually satisfied and think 2k did a good job with this game, then it will never reach its potential. I'm just saying, its been going on long enough, when is 2k actually gonna fix all its bugs and release bomb *** game?

But thats my point....MVP had THOSE features and THOSE bugs in 04-05....its 2007 and 2k hasnt even topped them

team chemistry, and email crap of mvp were equally broken from 04 to 05, not to mention the resigning process, same with progression, there was no point of trying to build on youth. forgot about the "build a stadium " feature ,, (yawn), i also found it comical in mvp 05 when jason bay was leading off for the pirates, hahah , or in 04 when the computer would base there 25 man on ratings alone, and pitchers automatically started at a higher ratings so naturally they were selected to the 25 man before position players, which usually meant 14 pitchers, 11 position players. just when ea was headed in the right direction they lost rights to MLB which sucked because another couple years they coulda had an incredible game, unless of course it took a major turn for the worse like madden.

mlb 2k7 is in the same boat as mvp 05. good game play, with lots of flaws/ bugs and the need for a vast improvement in franchise to be a completely solid game, only 2k7 graphically looks much much better. so to criticize 2k7, and praise mvp is pretty hypocritical.

It's almost like the company has ADD and can't focus on one thing. Instead of completing one task, they get bored in the middle, leaving it unfinished, and then go on to try and create something new.

Good Point, an example would be: They spent time animating a curtain call if a pitcher has a strong game , or a guy hits a clutch homer, but the audio department didnt bother adding crowd audio to match it. They are dead silent.
Not a gamekiller by any means, but its little things going unfinished.
Still love the game though!

No argument there - with the exception for the animations and player movements, which are as bad and cheesy as last year. In the end though, the timed/point-up-and-blast-HR's hitting interface, along with the dead-easy pinpoint pitching that is Payoff, just doesn't do it for me. Feels like a kid's version of baseball to me, regardless of all the on-field improvement.

Im sorry man , but the HR hitting can be made to be very tolerable with slider adjusting. Move power down to atleast 5 and make the CPU pitching difficult and you should not be hitting 4 HR's per game. Even when pointing up.

I also dont understand your gripe with the pitching ??? There are 3 different styles. Any of the zones with with the interface above 85 should give you all the challenge you need and then some.

Animations and player movements ??? Have you played this game ???

2K5 and 2K6 were both pathetic. 2K7 requires no more tweaking and contains no more flaws then any other game .

well, you are right about same things. MVP 05 was far more advanced at its point that MLb 2k7 and its. The fact you're saying MVP 05 and MLB 2k7 are in the same boat is pretty much my point. 2005....2007. Get it? At this point, 2k should have fixed its flaws, made sure it doesnt have the same flaws that hindered other games like The Show and MVP 05, AND added stuff like Minor Leagues and spring training.

Dont think anyone is saying this game is perfect. And "were never gonna see a good game" ? Obviously looking at the improvements this year 2K knows this as well and there making great strides IMO.

I think your romantisizing a little too much about MVP05 if your suggesting it didnt have its fair share of flaws. Obviously you could deal with the flaws in MVP05. Just like many of us can deal with the flaws in 2K7.


People like different things. Personally I thought MVP was about as dull, boring, and flat out ugly a game as Ive ever seen. I didnt play any baseball game in 05 and 06.

Now that statement I agree with 100%, I really enjoyed MVP on the PC, the mods made the game amazing, I personally didnt enjoy the console versions since the problems I could contain or eliminate with mods on the PC were things I couldnt overlook on the console version. I hated the 2k baseball series for as long as I can remember, last year I never even bought it, this year I picked it up but also grabbed the show on the ps2 figuring that the 2k game would be horrible again and I was pleasently surprised and have since sold the show. This might be the first game in a long time that I feel challenged in a lot of ways, so far I am 23-23 with LA and loving every minute of it.

How can you complain about it if you haven't rented the game or own the game? Rent the game, then come on and complain about the problems you are having with the game.

As I said earlier in this thread, between the chalklines, the gameplay has improved immensely from 2k6 to 2k7. That was the focus this year, gameplay. Maybe next year they fix some issues with franchise.

MVP had it's issues with franchise mode as well. Progression, ai logic with lineups, build a staduim, etc...... MVP was not the Holy Grail of all baseball games, the game has just as much flaws as 2k7 does.

I'm not comparing Triple Play to HH and HH to MVP and MVP to 2k7. I'm only comparing 2k6 to 2k7 and gameplay wise, it's not even close. 180 degree turnaround from 2k6 to 2k7 gameplay wise. I took 2k6 back after 2 games.

Yes, franchise mode needs fixing,that's obvious, and hopefully they fix it in a patch or next year.

the way this thread has gone is so typical on these boards. don't get me wrong, there isn't any other place to get such a wealth of info on sports gaming. it's just sad that you have to wade through all of the bs to get it.

the pattern goes like this. somebody asks a question or makes a comment about the game. inevitably very few legit reponses are made before the haters take the threat hostage. before long the threat degenrates into a pissing contest between those who hate and those who are defending the game and your lucky if one in five posts has anything to do with the original question or topic.

so, after reading through page after page of bickering we can determine that there is no legitimate info as to whether or not a patch will come out, there are various reasons to speculate both that there will be and that there won't be, some people hate the game, some people like it and i'm sorry i asked.
