Re: patch coming?
When it comes to fixing glitches that are in the game year after year, yes. When it comes to trying to create innovative games, not so much. I mostly appreciate the effort; they just fall short in the execution all the time and for some reason keep releasing unfinished games. And to be fair, you have to point the finger at Kush, not 2K. Kush is responsible for baseball and 2K's equally buggy hockey game.Comment

Re: patch coming?
It's almost like the company has ADD and can't focus on one thing. Instead of completing one task, they get bored in the middle, leaving it unfinished, and then go on to try and create something new. The potential for greatness is there, but in the end your left with something that overall just feels raw, untested and unfinished. You feel like just a little more time in certain area's and this game would be on another level.
I don't for a second believe that these things went unnoticed in testing. It just seems that someone decided what was and wasn't a "game-killer" and everything that wasn't determined to be a "game killer" wasn't fixed and was left alone with its faults.Comment

Re: patch coming?
And am I the only one who has had zero problems with the homeruns? I average 1 (maybe 2) per game, between both teams. I don't push up on the swing stick unless it is a meat pitch (and most of those I either miss or pop-up) and am using some custom sliders (based off of the perfect slider project, I believe). In fact, I just got done with a 10 inning game where the only homerun all game was the walk-off to win 4-3.
My advice to those that are having homer problems is keep the ball low and out of the zone (just like in real life). If you have to go high, do so with a nasty fastball.Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

None of these issues go unnoticed and I've been saying the same thing since MLB 2K5. 2K is knowingly putting out broken, half-finished games. But as long as gamers keep buying their products...Comment

Re: patch coming?
I doubt it's a screwup. The game's programmed to play that way, which is why there won't be a patch to fix it. I believe the thinking is, the more homeruns, the more 'fun' the game is supposed to be. I'm pretty sure that's the intent with this series anyway: make it fun and easy for the online crowd.Comment

Re: patch coming?
another thing people need to stop hyping up games in there minds. i came into mlb 2k7 with a glass half empty approach and the game surprised me and now im enjoying it. for 360 owners like mysel 2k7 is the only game in town and i am ejoying the game. [/end rant]Look at all the best soccer players. All from the hood, Tevez, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, pele, rooney, zidane, eusebio. Hell one more Maradona, Hood XI beats suburbia XIComment

Re: patch coming?
Not to be nitpicky here, or anything, but the roster "glitch" isn't a glitch at all. It is the way the AI is programmed to look at and arrange line-ups. It is kinda like the way the first MVP was made, when it would keep 14 pitchers and only one catcher. Not a glitch, just un-ideal programming. Meaning, there will be no patch for it.Comment

Re: patch coming?
Uncle0 it'd be easy to give up if 2k was able to give us what we loved about MVp 05 PLUS more. But they still dont have stuff like MVP 05, even what MVP 04 had. Theres no depth with 2k7 really. And why not have high expectations? Its 2007 man....its time to have high expectations. We had high expectations 2-3 years ago and EA met those expectations, and now its 07 and 2k still cant meet crap. Stop making excuses, seriously. Theres always people who keep making excuses and stuff, its never gonna change if you do.
2k makes amazing basketball games....why cant they ever get the baseball game right?Last edited by Failure; 04-02-2007, 03:32 PM.Comment

Re: patch coming?
You weren't here for last year's '2K6 weep, wail and curse fest', obviously. This is nothing compared to that.Comment

Re: patch coming?
What, you think 2K's 'three year plan' for the series is just some lame excuse?? You think they'd make something like that up, just to screw with people and lower expectations for this game and next year's as well???
Actually, you maybe on to something...Comment

Re: patch coming?
LOL, 'ADD'... no kidding. That sums up Kush and their game programming history over the past three years. Although they did sort of get away from that this year with 2K7, which is really just an improved version of 2K6 (except for the bugs they didn't bother fixing yet again).

I don't have time for franchise, so, that part doesn't bother me. I've seen other baseball games mess around with the lineups as well.
The rocket arms of last year are gone, everything else can be tuned with sliders.Comment
