    Re: patch coming?

I dont forsee a patch for this game. The only bugs worthy of a patch are the HR's and roster glitches. The HR's can me made tolerable with sliders. I dont see that being patched. And obviously the roster glitch is unfixable or it wouldnt be in the game again. They would have programmed it out by now.

All the other bugs are not major enough to be patched. They are the run of the mill bugs you find with EVERY video game.

IMO if you cant enjoy this game now......a patch isnt going to change things that drastically for you. Unless you think hitting a few less HR's is that big a deal.

LOL, just don't hold your breath while you optimistically wait. And as I pointed out, 2K does have a track record here - they don't patch their games, period, except if it's basketball, or if it's unplayable like 2K6 was.

Exactly. And the roster glitch is becoming such a normal part of the game - going on 4 years or more now - that Kush should consider advertising it next year as a game feature. Call it 'Fantasy Lineup Mode' or something.

if your too lazy to adjust sliders to make the game sim, then stop playing it and stop criticizing it. the game is good when adjusted right, looks great, and gameplay is realistic . sure there are odd bugs/ flaws but its the best game on the market. i still dont understand why you continue to troll the 2k forums to bash it, some people do enjoy the game, its a decent game, patch or no patch.

ps. almost all games have poor managerial AI, but i guess youve never played mvp baseball. despite that, it was still the best game at the time. remember these are not real people managing these teams, what do you want a robot with a human brain?

            Re: patch coming?

I'd like to see the errors counting as earned runs and walks counting as unearned runs patched. Shouldn't be hard to do and IMO are very worthy of a patch as they ruin stat tracking. Those are 2 pretty big mistakes on 2K's part. I wonder if they just missed it or don't know the rules of baseball well enough!

On a lesser note, another bug that I'd like to see patched is when you have a tie game and guys on 2nd and 3rd in the last inning. Ever notice BOTH runs score and not one run? Example: Bottom 9, game tied 4-4, runners on 2nd and 3rd. Base hit in the gap, both runs will score and the final score will be 6-4. The second run should never score. This doesn't happen that often, but I have seen it happen 2 times in about 20 games of my franchise.

im a franchise nut who loves realistic stats and stuff, and im not gonna buy the game unless its fixed. I was a big MVP fan, and i cant believe in 2007 and 2k still cant top mvp 05. Oh well...i guess a good baseball game is a thing of the past. (unless you got a ps3, then u get The Show)

The franchise issues are not that big a deal. The biggest problem is the CPU shuffles lineups. But if you're playing franchise and therefore multiple seasons, what's the issue? Teams change their lineups year to year. IMO, not buying the game because of a few quirks with franchise mode makes no sense. 95% of any game is about gameplay anyway.

                  Re: patch coming?

how badly are the lineup shuffles though? If its super bad...then its gonna annoy the hell out of me. And the ERA glitch, it messed up the stats. And the HR issues....

I know the gameplay is good, but a game isnt fun for me unless I'm playing franchise mode, and if the franchise is messed up, the game cant be fun.

BTW, is there Spring Training games and unis in mlb2k7?

                    Re: patch coming?

No spring training games but the unis are. In fact they have the regular uniforms, Cool Base which is the next technological uniform to keep players cool on hot days, the BP unis some teams have both home and away, alternate uniforms, and there are at least 2-6 options of throwback unis. 2K did a heck of a job on the uniforms although I wish they would let us choose the computers uniform in franchise mode. It is only allowed in exhibition mode. I also wish there was spring training but instead of improving in spring training the computer just decides wheter or not the player declines in rating or gets better which is the dumbest idea i have ever heard.

                      Re: patch coming?

see, 2k is just wack man. No Spring traning games and no playable minor leagues? This is stuff EA had in MVP 04! I remember they had mini games in Spring Traning where u can improve pitchers and your hitters. If they arent gonna have that stuff, they can at least not have the ridiculous that it has. Seriously, at least when EA bought the football liscences, Madden and NCAA were good games and better than the 2k games anyway (i know nfl 2k5 was good, but i doubt 2k woulda kept it up). 2k getting the MLB liscence stripped us of the best baseball game and made us stuck with this...

I'm sure mlb2k7 is a good game, but I just cant take a step back from games i played 2-3 years ago

That's a good point about rosters changing year to year and what not, and to be honest, I haven't purchased this game yet but I did rent it to see how the franchise played out(that and gameplay are most important things to me w/ this kind of game). That being said, when I rented the game and sim'ed two seasons, the amount of YOUNG stars that were traded for OLDER (and MOSTLY lesser players) was unrealistic and unreasonable at best. The gameplay was OK, could be far worse thats for sure. The line-ups were all jacked up and seemed out of order and the amount of stars in the minors was kind of out of place. But it's cool cause I've got my other baseball game to fall back on(which, even though the graphics aren't as nice, everything else has it beat w/ free mods and roster updates) I'm just happy that I have my $60 ($54 if you count the rental) still in my pocket.

Anyway, enjoy your 2k9 beta v.1  lol (I REALLY do hope they patch the game for people that play it...at least 2k SEEMS to be headed in the right direction)

^^It's okay to like the game but its never gonna get better if people keep excusing the wackness on 2k sports. They're so behind it's crazy.

I agree with everything you're saying here. Truth is, franchise mode no doubt has more problems than just lineup screwups. I was just suggesting to try the game out before deciding, but I see you did that, so there you go. And for the record, I also feel the game is 2K9 beta v.1 and not actually worth purchasing this year. But I found that out for myself by renting it, rather than listening to comments about issues here on this site. That's all I was getting at.
