    NOOOOO! WSB is going the way of Triple Play!!!

    I just read this in the interview and quite frankly Im shocked:

    "Now, only on balls that are sure home runs, the game will cut directly to a cut scene clearly showing the flight of the ball, and the distance that it traveled. They are really pretty cut scenes and do a fabulous job of showing off not only the flight of the ball, but the beauty of the parks."

    So now basically Sega has pulled a Triple Play and is going to go to a cut scene on deep homeruns taking away all suspense. I am in shock here.

    It looks like MVP and ASB for me...

      Um, at least it's not a cut-scene for EVERY HR. I don't mind seeing a cut-scene once in a while when I hit a long bomb. Now if I were subjected to a cut-scene for a HR that barely cleared the wall then i'd be a bit upset.

          Um, at least it's not a cut-scene for EVERY HR. I don't mind seeing a cut-scene once in a while when I hit a long bomb. Now if I were subjected to a cut-scene for a HR that barely cleared the wall then i'd be a bit upset.

              i'mnot gonna buy WSB, but i dont think this is a reason to not wanna buy the game.

              There is no suspense needed on a sure homerun. I think it's great that Sega has only allowed for cut scenes on clear shots. The players know they hit a homerun and now the player will know too.

              On balls that come close to clearing the fence, Sega still allows for the suspense that everyone clinges on.

                      With all due respect, you are completely wrong. I personally have never played WSB. I have read that in past versions the home run suspense was taken away from you on every home run. NOW they are saying that it won't happen on every home run, "only on balls that are SURE home runs" which to me means exactly what it says. NOT EVERY HOME RUN but only the ones that are blasts.

                      I could be wrong on the past WSB as I said I have never played it but it seems like that is what I have read about it. Either way the very thing you are saying will ruin the game seems to me to be the best of both worlds. I am certainly giving WSB a shot this year after playing HH for the past few years. If I don't like WSb then I will just go back to HH...no biggie.

How can anyone say that with the exception of MVP (only because it is made by EA and they have obviously always made TP) that there is any other baseball game out there that compares to Triple Play? There is no game right now that can compete with Triple Play in the "Piece of Garbage" category. No I haven't played any of the new games yet but I can say with certainty that each game is making progress and trying to make foward strides. A developer would have to just bail completely on one of the series and would still be a couple to three years of work awat before they would be able to make their game as bad as TP. Of course this is all just my opinion.

                                      does anyone remember the rare HRs on Griffey 64 where the camera like stayed behind the batter as the HR went flying out of the park? That was cool.

                                              EA used to always say that the Triple Play Home Run camera only appeared on long shots *** well. Unfortunately for them the Home Run camera appeared on almost every home run.

                                              This idea of Home run cam on shots originated from the Triple Play series. High heat 2003 soon followed. I hate Triple Play so much that I dont like ANYTHING being taken from theoi game.

                                              Also a lot of this depends on what kind of home run camera. Is it going to be the EA style where we get to see the ball hit 3 different times from three different angles DURING REAL TIME? Or even a view where YOU ARE THE BALL?? I certainly hope not. If its just a shot of the ball only and the batter hitting the ball ONCE then maybe thats fine..

                                                      Just fact the fact that developers want to make sweet home runs shots. I only like the suspenseful one's though because you don't know if the outfielder will rob you. I have to say that some of the shots are pretty nice, especially behind the catcher.
