Re: NOOOOO! WSB is going the way of Triple Play!!!

Are you guys the same bunch taht get excited about every fly ball at a real game, screaming about the lazy can of corn to centerfield thinking it was going out?????? Being a season ticket holder for over 10 years to the NY Yankees, I would say the majority of the homeruns you cant tell as soon as they leave the bat that they are gone. On some homeruns I can tell from just the sound of the bat that they are gone.

Before the pitcher has time to turn around I say out loud that one is gone....For someone not to get a game because of special camera angles on certain homeruns makes no sense. But everyone has an opinion....

    Best,

Well I may have jumped the gun a bit. I think WSB baseball last year was one of the best Baseball games Ive played since Baseball Pro 98 for PC.

That being said a camera angle that is used once every third game or so is not a good reason to avoid the game.

For the record, it's all about WSB and MVP Baseball this year!!!

I'd like to see them do it sorta like on TV. If its a long homerun have the camera normal, but then towards the end of the flight of the ball, have the camera zoom out a bit so you can see where the ball goes.

              It can be pulled off.

Bonds wouldn't pose if every ball he hit was in limbo of going out. I think on some balls you know immediately if it's a homerun.

What bugs me about ASB is every homerun no matter the type is a cutscene in some respects. On the other end of the spectrum you have HH where it sort of goes into that very poor camera angle and seems to zoom right into the crowd not giving you any perspective on what type of shot it was.

I dont understand what the big deal about cut sequences are. I mean its opinions in these functions that turned Triple Play into the arcade version it became. I remember when TP 97 came out on PS1, it was by far the best gaem on the market, and slowly declined from there, with red tracers behind the ball, like whats on Slugfest now... It is all about the gameplay if you ask me... I want to sit down and play a game that has as much reality as possible.... I personally could care less to have Giambi watch his balls go over the fence... Just get it over, and let Bernie come up and take his dfamn at bat. I like the old options of being able to have the rotating cameras for replays. if you want to watch the ball go over the fence, they should go back to implimenting that back into the games. I just think these are essentially the most irritating parts of a game. It dont add any more drama, than watching a replay of a guy walking back to the bench after striking out, like on ASB at the end of the innings. I'm am still at the uncertainty of which game i will purchase, though having owned the last 2 versions of ASB, i think MVP is looking the most promising, mostly because of the possibility of the batter/pitcher interface. I like the graphics features of both MVP and WSB, but i think in the long run MVP< will have the most options.

I wouldn't say you jumped the gun I would say you called shotgun on a bus full haters for WSB2K3

Last year they didn't have good cut-scenes for the HRs and most of the time you couldn't even see the darn ball in it. If you would've checked out the HR movies at IGN you would've seen what you read was wrong anyway.

I disagree with whomever said you can not tell if a HR is a HR when it is hit. I think at least half the time you can tell and I don't need 10 years worth of tickets to tell! Especially on long bombs, they totally explode off of the players bat. Case in point, at a Reds game last year, a Pirates pitcher hung a curve to Junior and before it even got 10 feet from his bat, you could tell it was jacked. Case in point, cutscenes aren't bad IMO as long as they don't take away chances to rob HR's. I think A HR is very recognizable, especially a long one when you are at the game. And if you use that as an excuse to not buying a game, you will end up with a shi**y baseball game this year!
