Re: Why I'm loving this game right now...

This game post patch, has really turned out to be one of my favorites of all time. Had a spectacular game last night against the Cubbies - game had a little bit of everything, steals, throw outs trying for that extra base, intense pitching moments, etc...

I really hope 2k8 delivers. Would love to see some "around the league" clips like NFL 2k5 had at halftime and after the game.

So after reading thru this thread & hearing how the game being PATCHED has made this game enjoyable again, I fired her-up & began playing my franchise again.(Using my Boys of Summer Sliders)

Man, Kush did a helluva a job with this patch. Outside of the choppiness which occurs sometimes the game seemed to play a lot smoother than before, especially the animations.

Also is me or does look like they toned down the lighting(360 version) during Day Games. Played a day game V. Mets(Subway Series) it the game looked simply amazing.. IMO the BEST looking SPORTS GAME to date...

It also seemed like they toned down the Power in the game(only played 2 games/only 1 HR by both teams)

        ^^^^^^
yeah post patch day games are easier on the eyes. before i couldn't see my batter's eye for the sunlight. now it's better. i also like the fielding cam better now than before. if they are able to get the gameplay more Showlike this will be a contender for GOTY IMO. The Show, while a good game (PS3), is too much like baseball in that it at times puts me to sleep. That's why I prefer 2k7, visually its better and the little features (like the warp time to base cam and baseburner mode) make it more enjoyable. and even though those features are not essential to a sim baseball experience, i enjoy them because it adds up to a more complete entertainment package.

I was about to take this game to EB to trade it in for credit towards NBA 2k8, something told me to play a game first, and I was blown away. My copy had been collecting dust for the entire summer, now I've rattled off four games in two days. I'm playing a franchise with the Braves, and after tweaking some sliders in my favor (fielding related as I'm old and slow) I'm enjoying this game. Great presentation, and the games are fun. I'm the Braves and I'm 2.5 games out of the Wild card race. The franchise mode has been extremely enjoyable. I called up a second baseman and made him bat leadoff, first game he hits a homer, and a triple before whiffing three times. I enjoy the cutaway replays to key moments from earlier innings. And the pitcher management is done well. I'm not a baseball purist, but I do enjoy this game and will play out the franchise. This will be the first time a baseball game held me over until bball season.

I'm playing my hardest, and doing everything to win and I'm still only six games above .500. Mid-way through the season on almost sports games I find that I have to dramatically change sliders/edit rosters because I've "figured it out". I'm really hoping I never get to that point in this game.

In the end, it's nice to sit down to every game knowing it has some meaning because I'm not running away with the division.
Can someone point me in the direction for best sliders for the Xbox 360 version of this game? I just finished playing the month of April using the Red Sox and Ortiz already has 24 home runs? Not very realistic in my book. Thanks.
