Austin Kearns had 372 AB's last season and hit .315. Aside from that, I'm pretty sure he got some votes for ROY. If he's not in the game, there needs to be some tweaking in the decision making.

I'd say "kickings in the junk" rather than "tweaking in the decision making" but yeah, you're right.Comment

There's also a slider that controls how often the CPU throws strikes. Lower it for more walks and higher pitch counts.

So Austin Kerns isn't in the game?

He is in the game. So no one gets kicked. I'll look up the other guys in a bit and let you know if they're in the game and which roster (majors or minors) they are on.

Re: FatPitcher, a couple of WSB questions
FatPitcher, I have bought High Heat for the last 3 years but now it looks like a bust so i would like to give WS baseball a try. My main concerns about this game is the sim engine and the pitcher/batter interface.
First off, is the sim engine fixed? i read some reviews that said in last years game their were tons of players with 600-700 at bats in a season because the computer wouldn't use subs. Also, what kind of vital stats will i be able to edit if players don't preform as well as i think they could during a season? What i mean is what kind of batting/pitching ratings are at my disposal.
Second, how realistic is hitting? When i get ahead of the count will i find myself able to sit on fastballs? Can i pull the ball or slap an outside pitch to the opposite field?

Re: FatPitcher, a couple of WSB questions
I wouldn't be so quick to say High Heat is a bust.
The sim engine is greatly improved, in large part because of the addition of depth charts and fatigue for position players (the fatigue is an option you can turn off when you start your franchise). Backups will play a % of the time (modifiable) and when the starter is overly tired.
There's a list of ratings I posted somewhere...it's definitely comprehensive enough for you to get the results you want. Keep in mind, though, that players can have fluke seasons.
Sitting on fastballs down in the count is usually a good idea; it depends on which pitcher you are facing. Some tend to avoid walks as much as possible, and some refuse to give in and throw a fat pitch. Most are somewhere in between, working around good hitters when down in the count and coming after weaker hitters. It's never a sure thing with any pitcher, but they do have tendencies that you can exploit once in a while if you pick up on them.
Hit direction is based entirely on timing. Swing early and pull the ball, swing late and send it to the opposite field. You get a bonus for pulling inside pitches and hitting outside ones to the opposite field.Comment
