I think most of the reason is lower quality of games.... I haven't really played any great sports games on the 360. I don't know why this is, I think the exclusive licenses with EA and 2K are hurting the sports gaming industry for the fans.

2K does have the graphics down, but I disagree with people who saying it needs the gameplay of MVP '05. The gameplay in MVP was fun as hell but very arcadey, IMO. There are certainly some aspects that need to be taken from it (more foul balls, throw meter in the field) but I hope they never adopt MVP's hitting or pitching system.Last edited by ehh; 10-26-2007, 10:23 AM."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: How about Updates from Ben Brinkman
The problem with sports games on the next gen is that they have just become too complicated. Football is a good example. Nowadays, the playbooks are huge, and beyond that you can motion players and call all sorts of hot routes & Audibles...basically creating millions of scenarios that you can't be fully tested. Beyond that, developers have tried to capture human emotions that you can't really quantify in an algorithm....things like Confidence, Chemistry, Motivation, Momentum, Clutch Factor etc.Comment

Re: How about Updates from Ben Brinkman
I hated the hitting in MVP 05. If you didn't have a perfect swing, you always hit weak grounders or soft line drives. From the little I played of the 2k7 demo, it seems like the hitting on there was better.Comment

But thats the problem I have with most other baseball games, you can make bad swings and still hit rocket shots all over the place.Comment

Re: How about Updates from Ben Brinkman
The ball came off the bat well but I don't think there were nearly enough hard-hit line drives and bloop singles were non-existent. I also felt that too many balls hit squarely would hang up in the air way too long and OF's would get to a ton of 'em. The ball certainly reacted amazingly off the bat at times, but I think the hit variety in 2k4 was better."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: How about Updates from Ben Brinkman
MLB 07 the show really nailed hit variety. I hit little squibbers, sometimes i get broken bat doubles, sometimes my back-up infielder crushes one into the bleachers, its perfect. If only it had some graphics and a realistic franchise mode.Comment

Re: How about Updates from Ben Brinkman
Whats wrong with The Shows graphics? I think they are outstanding. Of course they went down a different path then MLB (MLB2k7 looking more realistic) Overall The Shows graphics/animations for onfield and off win (IMO) but MLB2k7 is done well too. (IM comparing PS3 versions only)Comment

I'm just counting the years until 2K loses this contract and we get MVP back.Comment
