I don't understand how people can be down on Joe. John and Joe are one of the best broadcast teams ever. And while their commentary in the game is repetitive - not their fault BTW - it was a real plus a couple years ago getting those two to join up with 2K's baseball series.

The key words there are "a couple years ago." Unfortunately for those that have played this game for a couple of years, they are listening to commentary that is old and stale. And while I agree that it's not Joe and John's fault, I guess you have to then blame 2K for deciding to go with people that can't put in enough time (or cost too much) to properly utilize. Having hall of fame broadcasters is a nice idea, but when the commentary is lacking, stale, boring and repetitive, then what's the point?

While I can't speak for everyone, I think most would rather have either some lesser known broadcasters or even generics (a la the NFL series) if it meant much more variety in the commentary. When you're playing a franchise and you hear the same comments made about each of your players in every game, it gets old fast.

I want to get "booed" when getting a r.b.i. single, double, etc. and when coming up to the plate when I play games on the road.

Maybe you have something more specific and elaborate in mind, but this, as it is written, would be lame.

Well if you didn't mind it, then you should enjoy it this year. BB said they did record new things for the commentary, and they will cut to Jeanie, etc for news breaks on other game updates in between innings and plays (which would rock if they showed highlights from other games)!!!

Are they showing key highlights from your own game, in-game? I know The Show will.

2K did this since 2K6... and had it in 2K7 as well.

I'm not referring to the end highlights nor am I referring to replays immediately following a play nor a single highlight in between innings. The announcers will look back, mid game, about something that happened previously and discuss it.

So if a player hit a lead changing HR in the 4th inning, they will play it AND talk about it the next time he bats up. Same goes if a pitcher makes a big strikeout and so forth.

That's not in 2k6 nor 2k7, AFAIK.

Um, yes it is.

I played last night. Manny hit a bomb in the 4th to tie the game. They talked about it and showed his next at bat in the 6th.

Well, that's good to know then. At least we know it will be in the game this year again since the commentary is so similar to previous years.

I don't recall it ever happening when I played, however.

I loved Steve Lyons and Tom Brennaman's routine in All Star 05. That felt so damn natural. I really like John and Joe in real life, but I can only hear the same things so often....it's like having a second wife announcing 2k games, saying the same thing over and over again.

Do you have a HDD hooked up to the 360? And is the option on in the options menu.

This was a defining feature since 2K6 (and even better in 2K7) that happens ALL the time, in EVERY game played. You cant miss it. They even show a great defensive play when the player comes up to bat as well.



The Show is not bringing anything new to the table. Though it is nice to see them include this as well.

Yes a premium although I haven't played the game since about... May? Going on memory here... I even watched a few videos to refresh my memory prior to posting it.

To make a blanket statement like "The Show is not bringing anything new to the table" considering you have not even seen its implementation I think is pretty ridiculous. But to each their own... For all we know 2k8 might not be "bringing anything new to the table" as well, but I'll reserve comments like that until both titles are out.
