Re: I am no longer employed by 2K Los Angeles

Well Good Luck...I'm sure it's refreshing and scary at the same time, especially since you knew this day was looming when you told them after 2K7 was complete. It sounds like you are well on your way to walking right into something that is hopefully even better.

Hopefully a time will come when you can spill the beans on some of the behind the scenes stuff that went on at 2K as I think it would just be interesting to most to know what takes place on a daily and even yearly basis, how and why decisions are made and by who, what kind of schedule you guys works, how many if any of new ideas come from the boards, what kind of deadlines you are up against and most importantly, what the hell is wrong with the marketing department there?? . I think those out of the know, think it is just the most glorious job and I'm sure, you as an insider, probably don't think so.

Only you'll know when that time is right (maybe after 2K8 is released), but if your ever open to doing this, I'm sure the people here would love to pick your brain about the ongoings of a baseball video game development team. Obviously, you could be a specific or general as possible.

Thanks for all of the info. Our only hope is that the guy who takes your place will step up and do the same.

                Best of luck!

Sorry to see you go. I didn't frequent these forums too much, but I always kept an eye on the 2K stuff.

FWIW, if you're still interested in baseball, maybe see if SCEA is hiring?

KushGamer, sorry to hear man. I just have a few [probably answerable] questions, though:

                            - I don't know if you've ever revealed your identity yet. Would you be able to tell us who you were and what you did on this game series?

                            - "Kush" is obviously no longer, so did you guys have any short ways to say "2K Los Angeles"? Did you just say "2KLA", or did you phonetically pronounce it as "Tooklah" or anything? Just wondering what kind of lingo we should start spreading around here to be up with the times.

                            - I'm only in my second year of college, but I am a Computer Science major. My ultimate goal is do be a video game programmer, specifically for baseball. I was wondering exactly how many years of CS I should be devoted to, and which programming language I should specifically focus on? I've had two semesters of beginner's Java and one semester of Assembly. Now I'm in my third semester of Java, with sort of no idea as to when my college map lets me dive into C++ or anything. Also, if I were to ever want to start up in QA or anything, do you know which buttons I would need to press, or are you still enough in touch with the guys to be a reference someday?

                            - WHY DON'T YOU LIKE IN-N-OUT?!

                            - What kind of guys do you hire for motion-capturing? I happen to mimic a lot of stances, swings, nuances for some odd reason, and I think I could fit that bill.

                            - And I don't know if this question can be answered, but... do you know what bat sounds are really supposed to be in the game? The ones from the trailer or the ones from the preview build?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Hey Kush thanks for everything. It was nice having u around. I have the feeling Kushgames has been replaced by Bluecastle which worked on the MVP series.
