Re: Ben Brinkman (MLB2K8) Conference Call Live Blog -- 5 PM EST Start...Call Just End
Okay guys, go to the OS Content section or the front page at OperationSports.com for the link to the audio. I realize the link is dead at the moment but my wife is dragging me out of the house and the upload to the FTP site isn't finished yet. Should be ready to go in another 10 minutes.
Enjoy!Comment

Re: Ben Brinkman (MLB2K8) Conference Call Live Blog -- 5 PM EST Start...Call Just End
Maybe not, I was just under the impression you just pull straight back and push straight up. But, it sounds like you can pull back and angle the right analog stick to the left to try and pull the ball if you have right handed batter. I just didn't want to read too much into the system. That's why I thought I should ask first.
I believe basically it's pull straight back, and then pull through for power or just pull back and release for regular contact.
He made it sound like at some point you'd have to press directional left or right to pull or push depending on where the ball is...I guess that means use the left stick as well? Yea a bit confusing.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). Re: Ben Brinkman (MLB2K8) Conference Call Live Blog -- 5 PM EST Start
This is disappointing. From watching all of the gameplay footage that is out there, there was no instance where the homerun cam wasn't on. Ben said no-doubters only, yet in the cubs v cardinals footage Ramirez hits a 390ft HR to left center and the HR cam goes on. I'm sorry, a 390 ft HR to left center is NOT a no doubter. Oh well, I guess I should quit whining. Maybe it'll be like Power Pros where its like every 3 or 4 HRs the cam goes on *shrugs*Comment

as for as minor league rosters are concerned, does everyone think they will have the top prospects in the game again listed by different names same initials like last year. renaming them isn't the end of the world; at least they are in.Comment

Yea it broke up a bit when he was talking about minor league players, so it was tough to decipher what the deal was there. I would think there will be some likenesses though.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). they can't use their name if they havent played a major league game... therefore if a prospect came up even for 1 game maybe in late september for the 40 mans, they can use his name.. otherwise, i'd imagine they'd they him under a someone hinting alias IE Daisuke Matsuzaka as Dennis Miles in 2k7.Joe Girardi # 27Comment

Re: Ben Brinkman (MLB2K8) Conference Call Live Blog -- 5 PM EST Start...Call Just End
I'm not sure why I was ignored. I asked a question a while ago that went completely ignored:
Can we have a little more info on the HITTING system? Everything is about the pitching, but what about the hitting? Is it simple pull and push? Can we use last year's hitting model with buttons to swing and stick for direction? Or is it ALL timing now on all hitting models?Comment

Slizeezyc, great job on the audio, my only comment would be that the audio was a little low, but nothing that really bothered me much at all. But thank you so much for posting that. It was very informative, and makes the wait even more exciting. I just wish the damn demo would get put up. Thanks again. LaterComment

Re: Ben Brinkman (MLB2K8) Conference Call Live Blog -- 5 PM EST Start...Call Just End
I think the hitting works like this....as a right hand batter
First pull straight back.... then you have a few options
A). to hit a pitch that is down the middle just push straight up
B). If the pitch is outside push right to reach for the pitch then straight up to swing.
C). If the pitch is inside push left to pull batters arms in and then stright up to swing.
That is what I took out of what Ben said about hitting. It's more about timing than anything.Comment
