As far as I can tell by a time consuming fishing expedition through PAGES AND PAGES of discussion and squabbling here, xbox HAS the demo and now it is a waiting game of whenever the heck they feel like making it available.
With no spring training in the game I would like to practice the new pitching mechanic. It would be very nice to have the demo asap ( so when I buy it I don't have the deal with a learning curve and just dive into the game.)

Well said!!!! I've been saying this sort of thing for AT LEAST two weeks or so now! Anyways, XBL did update some things today as I play Rock Band and they put up another three song pack today, I wasn't sure that I noticed anything else that was put up, but that was definitely new. They were put up around 4am or so. Does anyone know whether XBL only updates itself just once a day, or is it a possibility that they do put new things up continuously all day???? Cuz if this is a possibility then maybe we could still get the demo today. But as others said the fact that PSN only updates on Thursdays, and seeing that this is an XBox 360 and PS3 game, it 's probably making more sense that Thursday is more apt to happen. As much as I would rather see it sooner than later. I'm really getting sick of checking XBL every hour, as well as checking the boards to see if it's up, I just wanna play the darn thing, plus it'll make the next few days until the actual game comes go a lot faster, as well as learning the new controls. one of many reasons i'm glad i have a PS3...
i'm not going to say it's as good as XBL (i used to have a 360) but hey for what it costs (nothing) i'd say its pretty darn good

only bad thing, it's only updated one day a week, but at least it saves me from gettin on everyday lookin for the demos i want!

The Playstation Store is updated every Thursday, usually late in the afternoon.

Why would Microsoft even care if SOny updates their demos on Thursday to the public?

If anything, I would think that they would want to beat them to the punch and release it earlier to spark more Xbox 360 version interest?...no?

As already stated, the demo has been in the hands of Microsoft and Sony now for a week or more. It's all up to them.

We've heard that the demo has been in Microsoft's and Sony's hands for awhile now. Most people are assuming that it is out of 2K's hands as they have provided the demo to Microsoft and Sony for them to put up. Who's to say that 2K has not given a date to these companies that they want the demo to be put up? So even though they have handed it off it may not be put up until a certain date. Sony updates PSN on Thursdays only I believe. I can't see Microsoft getting the demo on Live two days before Sony as many people would be outraged. I look for both demos to be up Sometime on Thursday.

I agree with this sentiment!!! I think 2K has more control over when the demo actually comes out than they admit to. I can totally buy into them requesting a specific date for it be put up for download. I guess it's their right to do so, but for the past few years they always seem to put the blame on MS for any delay saying that it's out of their (2K's) hands.

You would assume that they would make that date as soon as Microsoft can get it out seeing as though it is already way overdue.

Another possibility here, but maybe it failed certification and they had to redo it and submit it again. Not exactly something that they would advertise, but maybe that's what's causing it to take so long.

I agree 100%. As I've said before, March 3rd, day before official release. Just like last year.

I was going to demo both The Show and 2K8 before deciding which to buy, but if 2K8 doesn't come out with a demo prior to release that will make the decision easy.
