2K9 very well might not happen so I am not resting any hopes on seeing the culmination of this three year plan. If the game is an exact copy of 2K7s presentation with improved gameplay then I will be very happy.

I had absolutly no issues with the presentation last year and in fact would say it was just as good, if not better, than 80% of all sports games. If Madden can average mid - 80s scores with that presentation don't tell me 2K should be getting dinged for its presentation.

In fact it seemed like only last year the gaming media was singing accolades for MLB2K7s graphics, signature style and presentation with nothing but an occasional dig at the audio or menus. If I remember correctly everyone's problem with 2K7 was the FIELDING....something that would appear to be fixed now.

If there's a significant graphic leap, it could be a selling point for next year.

As for an audio patch, I wouldn't put it entirely out of the question. The patch they released last year addressed several gameplay issues and added a new fielding camera.

Atmosphere? Unless it's the playoffs, rarely anything goes on at a baseball park anyway. Come on, this isn't a Japanese league.

Atmosphere = Football (American and International).

Wow, has it really been that long since the A's were in the playoffs?

Seriously, atmosphere is a HUGE thing for me. It motivates me to do something great in a game--to hear the cheers OR the POP of the crowd, as they say.

Atmosphere? Unless it's the playoffs, rarely anything goes on at a baseball park anyway. Come on, this isn't a Japanese league.

Atmosphere = Football (American and International).

It was last year for 2k7. Basically they were marketing "how good the game looks" and all those signature stances/animations.

So that's graphics, not presentation and audio.

Atmosphere is a bonus to me, but it's not neccessary. Realism in EVERY statistical category is what I worry about.

madden always get high scores and as we all know there sound and atmosphere wasn't the greatest, so that doesn't bother me.......

I love atmosphere as well but this is baseball. Besides hecklers, the majority of people at baseball parks are eating or talking on their cellphones. I think 2K8 has hit realism on the head when it comes to baseball atmosphere. LoL . . .

just out of curiosity, how was last year's FULL game (MLB 2K7) compared to the MLB 2K7 Demo that you can grab on Xbox Live?

I thought the game itself was better than the demo. Then when it was patched it was much better than that.

Glad to hear about those reviews, because I've dealt with mediocre crowd noise and atmosphere in almost every sports game I've ever played. It's frustrating to hear gimmicky "Drum beats" and sound effects in the videogame Fenways, because they don't play those in real life, but I can get over it. I usually end up killing the announcers and playing music or streaming something over the sound, so I can deal.

Glad to hear the fielding and batting are improved... although a lot of times it's tough to gauge a sports game just from general magazine reviews, they may miss things that are important for hardcore fans of the sport (for instance, very few magazine/general gaming websites noted the big, glaring holes in 2K7 that haunted sports gaming communities)
