I've got a Sony Bravia LCD HDTV, just purchased, and the colors in that Show vid look more like the colors in the 2k8 vid.

That said, I'm glad the games are different. I want two unique games. Want two different experiences. I think they will both offer people a great baseball experience.

About two weeks ago, I ordered a Sony 46" Bravia LCD TV and I can't wait until it gets here. My neighbor has one and The Show demo looks absolutely stunning as well as NHL 08. Playing MLB 2k8 should be so different for me this year as I played MLB 2k7 on a 24" monitor.

really? After seeing them side by side, I thought 2K8 looked much better. I don't have much of a choice considering I don't own PS3, but after watching numerous videos for both games, I thought 2k8 does it better. Of course, this is all observations, considering I do not have both games.

However I do like some features on the show. I think the crowd is much better, they seem to react to different things, where as in 2k8 they just keep quiet when a player hits a HR, they don't really respond.

My post is not intended to be a flame war, I'm just posting my observations on the two different videos of the game.

Thats whats good about posting you should be able to post what you want when you want as long as you do it without vulgarity profanity etc.

HOWEVER. The Show being compared like ON a 2k8 forum side is bound to get The MLB 08 supporters on here to support it.

there is NO argument whatsoever in my opinion on what game is the better game.

2k8 was lazily handled this year....and it shows

I think if you change the colro of your tv 2k8 CAN look maringally better colorwise.

the show is still hands down the game we have to tweak less visually. It's pop it in and play wheras 2k8 is "hmmm okk tint down color up brighness down hmmm sharpness up contrast down ahhh no sharness down..." you get my point

Mine's the 40". I was playing on a 4-5 year old 58" JVC HDTV and I wasn't expecting a jump, but, good gosh, the difference was amazing. It's a whole new ballgame, that's for sure. I'm watching movies over again just to test it out. It's stunning.

I get to play 2K8 on a 20" 720p monitor this year. Certainly beats my SDTV of the same size!

With commentary all I care about these days is having some variation...all I can say at this point is that the Show has like 8GB of commentary...

Thats the early crappy build of 2k8, doesn't give it justice.

I most say though, the colors and lighting in the Show 08 just pop and look so crisp.

Really hoping this isn't 2k8's final product. I just hate when they hit home runs in the game. Sounds and looks really cheesy to me. I dont know how to explain it. Mabye its because I milked the **** out of the game last year so I'm kind of sick of it, but The Show just looks so much better and genuine. Once again, don't really know how to explain it.

I'm obliged to buy 2k8 because the Show isn't for 360, so I really hope its great.

This guy said it well! 2k8 just looks like the same old thing. maybe i just played 2k7 too much. I wish i had a ps3...oh well 2k8 here i come

The players look alot better in the Show, alot of the pitchers when looking at them from the outfield view look like they have Scoliosis in 2k8. IMO

But the main thing I noticed was that I don't understand the hate that the Joe Morgan commentary team gets. They've always had the best and most naturaly commentary to me.

I love John and Joe, but their commentary in 2K has little or nothing to do with what's happening in the game. It's just basically audio babble/fill. And it's annoyingly repetitive. After playing both games for two years, I would guess The Show has 10 times the audio commentary clips for each situation, maybe more.

Yup, that's where I see a huge difference. The Show is bright and alive; 2K8 is dull - like the game is being played on an overcast day.

there is no way you can put these games side to side and say that 2K8 looks worse than the SHOW. am I the only rational/sane person posting on here?

THE SHOW's players don't even look like real human beings. The animations are very good on there, but their swings don't look real..every swing is the exact same, the reactions to how the ball jumps off the bat are different, but the swings are the same.

Good comparison, regardless of the fact the builds are older. 2K8 IMO looks 2-3 years behind The Show in it's overall development: animations, presention and commentary in particular. There was a similar vid last summer which compared APF side-by-side with EA's NCAA. APF not only looked better, it made EA's game look like it was developed circa 2003. This particular comparison vid is very similar.
