The "How do you do that...." thread

Post all the small little tips here

    - pressing right trigger will make the pitching interface disappear
    - while batting, clicking the left stick will reveal the batters eye
    - Immediately pressing back on the swing stick after a swing results in a check swing

To throw to cutoff man, hold LT and press RS to any direction.

When in mananger mode does anyone know a way to have a guy on first just steal instead of always doing a hit and run. I think there was a way in 2k7 but don't know how in 2k8.
        Thanks

I also remember that. The thing is the vibrating is on when you play 2 players against a human. So maybe if you want the vibrating, you have to set the ball indicator to fade/off.

I scored six in six on him last night. But yeah, is there any way to tweak the strike zone? It seems like too many pitches that are out of the zone are called strikes. Maybe I should try turning the box off? I dunno.

I robbed one last night and it automatically did it for me. I just controlled my guy right up to the wall. The ball got there the same time and h e just went up and got it. it actually surprised the hell out of me cause i wasn't expecting it. Cool to see though.

How do you do baserunning? Like if i want to advance everybody two bases, or if i just want to advance one of my base runners and leave the others static? Any time i hit the ball and go for extra bases, my guys just run and run and never stop.

"The buckeyes play Akron, they play Kent State, I mean, they may win the MAC this year."

On 360, it's left trigger, advance all, right trigger, go back all. If you want to advance one guy. You select the runner by pointing at him with the left stick and press the face button (A,B,X,Y) corresponding to the base you want him to go to. It's very good IMO. I feel much more in control this year.

baserunning is quite simple. Just point at the runner you wanna control then click the base you want him to go to. Example Reyes is rounding first and I want him to go to third, I would point to first with the left analog stick (highlight reyes) then click X(360) to send him to third.

I've been noticing that as well. I was chalking it up to maybe that particular umpire, but after multiple games it's obvious this is the game. WAY too many balls being called strikes.

Here's another cool one I learned

                            - When pitching, press A to shake off the catcher and reset him. He will reset to where the pitching marker is located. Useful for payoff pitches

In manager mode the runners will have a button assigned...press the button and you will get the steal options.
