It may be a coincidence but pre-patch in 20 games I had seen ZERO steals and that was with steal 2nd set at 100...I just played my first post-patch game with default allstar sliders and there was one steal attempt by the cpu...only problem was it was FRANK THOMAS! So I was very happy to see a steal attempt but once I saw it was Thomas I wasn't so impressed anymore...Comment

Okay. I'm going to go spend $400 on a PS3 and another $60 on The Show because you say it's better. Thank you. You just helped me so much.
Seriously, it's not about justifying our purchase. You don't like the game? Fine. Not everyone is going to like a game. I think it's a lot of fun. I'll take 2k's pitching interface over any other any day of the week and twice on Sundays. And the minor leagues add a tremendous amount of depth to franchise. It is a lot of fun to develop the players from Single A to the bigs. But I understand what you are saying about the game. The faces might be off for some players, the replays aren't smooth, and online play is bad. I don't spend a lot of time looking at players faces, I turn replays off anyway, and I don't play sports games online. So this game pretty much suits my needs. Not everyone is going to like every game. Gears of War was universally loved, and I hated the game, so it happens.Comment

You know what they say..."Different strokes for different folks". Obviously the people that are here like this game. You don't speak for anyone but yourself. I've played The Show, it's an okay game but it's not particularly challenging though. And why are you in the 2k8 board pimping another game? Just stop it.Comment

Played my first game with the patch. FREAKING COMPUTER PUT ON A SUICIDE SQUEEZE PLAY ON ME!!! Man was on 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Not thinking much about a possible bunt, I had my infield playing in a double play formation....
I pitch.. and then I hear.. "IT'S A SQUEEZE!!!!" Frantically in a rush, I see my first basemen charging towards the ball. Possible play at the plate... then.. I hit LB and my 1st basemen goes the other direction as I switch to the pitcher. Everybody is safe. And I lose the game 5-1. Boo.Comment

I made a mistake since there were multiple updates from live for this game. Earlier I said it didn't fix the frame rate, and it didn't 100%, but 2k did a good job minimizing any problems with the FR...Last night I played 4 smooth games, and although every other 2k baseball game has frozen on me at some point, this one has not at about 20 games total.
It really did make the game much more playable, so I shouldn't have gone overboard before seeing what the real patch did. The game jumps up a full mark at least. For me it's about a 7.8-7.9 now. The only grip is that default sliders aren't very good, as in the AI has the best eye at the plate I've ever seen, and the catcher calls a crappy game.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Sweet. I really hope they find a FR fix for the PS3. I refuse to buy anymore 360 games, as I hate wondering if my 360 is going to die or not every time I start it up.
The FR problem is my only complaint thus far of any significance. The other little problems are annoying but certainly not major, imo.Comment

At the risk of starting a new thread.
Is there any news at all about the potential to fix online play. I'll go ahead and keep the game if their intending to fix online play, otherwise I'll propably just dump it. I've searched a bit and haven't seen any mention of addressing this issue outside of the presumption the patch was going to fix it.
Is there more to come or did they give up after the patch came out and didn't handle the online issues like they thought it would?PS4 - CoastalRyan

Yes, they are aware of the remaining lag issues and hope to have something out in 2 weeks. Looks like we will get opening day rosters and the lag issues fixed (improved) with this upcoming title date.
Per Ronnie Singh on the 2k Boards....
"OK two big questions that I am sure a lot of you are wondering but have been spoken about a lot in other threads. Online bugs (such as lobbies, league stats, etc.) and the remaining lag issues are being looked at for a title date. There is no ETA on the release of that but as promised the framerate issues drastically helped online play."Comment

one thing i have noticed is when you play two games, the second game is way more smooth. i first noticed it after i started a game and logged out because the same pitcher for the orioles was pitching two days in a row.**** after i started the second game, it worked so nice.
the next time i played i tried a full game without it and it was slower.
after one last experiment with playing a second game i noticed the pre-game commentary started sooner and almost completed physiak's comments and the game played way smoother than the first game.
i am going to try it a few more times. let me know what you see.
**** this sometimes happens when you back out of the batting lineup and back to the pitchers.Comment
