And I'm sure if the devs wanna sell games, they'd take 30 seconds out of their day off to make a 6 word post - "problem fixed - computer will take strikes."

i know this won't help for all the hardcore realists that play video games, but is their a pitcher fatigue slider that can be adjusted so even say your starter is throwing say 50-60 pitches through 5 innings can't you make it so he gets tired faster? that way it is still real by him being tired and having to dip into your bullpen

Maybe they're unaware that the fanbase demands answers NOW!
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
        Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?

Maybe they're unaware that the longer they delay, the more people change their minds about purchasing their product. I only own an XBox 360 and I am usually the LAST person to complain about trivial things, but in my opinion , having the cpu swing at every single pitch in the strike zone completely ruins the game from a simulation aspect.

The other issue that compunds this is that the human controlled pitcher really can't throw balls when trying to throw a strike. This game should be a slugfest with very few walks, KO's, and ground ball base hits. So much for 2k wanting to embrace the sim gamers.

I dunno...I always found the default fatigue values to be fine in past games. It's just the AI batting sliders I'm worried about.

Actually, there is a pitcher fatigue slider, although in a different spot - the gameplay options (presumably because it's "global"):

Agree, pitching fatigue was tolerable last year, nothing worth getting your panties in a twist.

But my worries continue to grow regarding the cpu swinging at every strike.

And to the guy who said the problem is compounded by the human's pitcher's inability to throw a ball when trying to throw a strike, I actually agree with the developer on that issue. If I nail a gesture and location, HELL, I wanna throw a strike (if I aim for one). I don't like the whole computer element (ala High Heat). I think if they made the meter more DIFFICULT, then we wouldn't NEED the computer element, we would be throwing balls by ourselves due to the meter difficulty. We shouldn't need the computer throwing balls for us.

Again, my ONLY gripe is the cpu swinging at every strike.

Q: Will the AI Batters be more patient in the retail version?
A: Yes, the AI batters will take more pitches. We have toned down the amount of balls swung at in the zone by the AI batters.

I agree with this. I hope the pitching mechanic is difficult enough that we can't master it and consistently throw strikes.

I wonder if anyone has a link to that? I just searched around Gamespot and couldn't find it.....

Thats fine, but you can't have a sim of the game if its based on H/E coordination. I mean should you be able to hit a HR every time if you master the swing?

I mean why don't they have a Sim/Arcade switch like they do forbasketball, thats would solve everything. Arcade, if you press the button at the right time, positive result. Sim, press the button at the right time, only somewhat enhances the result, everything is more based on ratings.

i hope this is the case too, but I am just afraid if it's on user skill, we will master it and never throw balls when we want to throw strikes.
