My K and BB ratios were good in last years game.

I agree with you on the ratings point. If ratings made a difference then this should NOT be an issue. Soriano should swing at more pitches than Manny Ramirez because his plate discipline is awful. Why can't this be reflected in the game? Believe it or not, FOM does a a decent job with this aspect of the game.

With regards to the sliders, I noticed a slider for Rating Influence. Is it safe to say that if this is maxed out, the "stick skills" of the USER mean less and more emphasis is put on the ratings of the players on the field? Wouldn't that fix the CPU swinging at everything problem?

I appreciate Philly's post from the developer and Steve's reference to the developer saying his issues will not be in the game, but like most of you guys, I'm a SIM gamer. One of my favorite aspects of baseball is the intensity of a 10 pitch late inning pitcher/hitter battle. If this is not fixed it is an absolute gamekiller for me and I'll just drop the $400 for a PS3 and The Show.

Aside from this potential issue, the game looks fantastic. I can deal with a frame rate skip here and there, but this swinging issue is huge. This is the type of s%$# that drives me insane! One major issue like this renders all of the other great changes meaningless because the game will be unplayable to me.

    I really hope it's fixed.

Preach on Brother Rizing. If ratings don't matter for pitch location, why should there be speed or power ratings either. Its hould be like Track & Field and Button Mash your way to a double or stolen base or to get your power meter up for a HR.

I just don't get why a baseball game wouldn't take pitchers ratings into account.

Having the CPU throw a realistic amount of balls is crucial to hitters not having to have inflated averages to achieve realistic scores

          For me...

2-4 walks, I have never got over 6 in one game.

          3-8 strikeouts.

          For the A.I...

          1-3 Walks.

          3-8 strikeouts

I have all of the A.I throw strikes sliders at 0.This helps to draw more walks, but not every pitcher will walk you. Some just pound the strike zone like crazy, like how it is when playing on one of the default settings.I think the pitchers "walks" attribute rating/slider has a lot to do with it.

most important part to me is if pitchers don't through enough pitches, they never get tired.

Q: Will the AI Batters be more patient in the retail version?
A: Yes, the AI batters will take more pitches. We have toned down the amount of balls swung at in the zone by the AI batters.
What a perfectly made up Q&A response to make everyone feel better, courtesy of KingGro......... actually it's quite sad. Unfortunately, the developers have not answered any questions on Gamespot.

Why are some expecting 2K to address this on OS? To my knowledge the MLB 2K team doesn't have a representative on here. Which is absurd because Sony Swarms their board with developer interaction.

man, if he made that up, throws ALL of his credibility of future postings away.

There is a VC dev that posts here from time to time (Simballer) and has answered some questions, plus Steve is in contact with them via email.

I know there are some VC developers that post on OS. But most if not all are from the NBA dev team if I'm not mistaken. We need some confirmations directly from the VC MLB dept.

True, Steve's been in touch with them & it was mentioned that there'd be refinements for the final release. Problem is they didn't give any specifics. Maybe he'll get an update soon on whether the batting AI has been tweaked.
