Re: Do not play in 1080p.....
I'm sure it everything to do with the type of HDTV people are using. I have a Sansung 52" 1080p Plasma and it looks incredible and there are not any jaggies or slow down for me. At least nothing that is standing out. I did try the switch just to see and 1080p is more crisp and sharper on my set. thxsComment

Re: Do not play in 1080p.....
All I know is you all are getting to deep about this.
It is simple, put your system on your TV's native res. Then any graphic or frame rate hiccups arise, then try it at a lower res (720p).If not, then rock the better res.
but having this discussion is pointless. You know how many different tv's and different setups everyone has. We will all have different outcomes for the most part atleast.Comment

Re: Do not play in 1080p.....
flawlessly? that is a reach there buddy
it is much improved over last year but 720p delivers 60fps all the time
1080p does not....when throwing to first base there is a hicup of the frame rate and also when hitting foul balls to the third base dugout or first base dugout...there is a framerate dip...also happens in mlb 2k9
also the lines on the field which are white like on the third base side or first base side or the edges of the infield are not as sharp in 1080p as they are in 720p
you get much better resolution in 1080p but you lose graphical depth on the field not to mention the perfect all the time 60fps
most of all games are native 720p and should be played on that resolution for the best possible graphical detail and framerate purpose....
I do not see any frame rate issues in mlb 2k9 demo maybe you should buy a better HDTV.Comment

Re: Do not play in 1080p.....
once again....maybe you guys should read before posting
I never said there was framerate issues in mlb 2k9 i said the show when playing 1080p and is nothig that is over the top
i bet you i have a better tv then you do...so dont go there
i said....
games should be played in 720p which is the native resolution for the games...
mlb 09 the show is optimized to play best in that setting...sure 1080p will have better resolution but the depth of graphics will not be as good as 720p
and when throwing to first base there is a slight hicup that you dont get in 720p
that is all i am saying....
in mlb 2k9 it dont matter what setting you put it in because is not true 1080p in any xbox 360 game
all you are doing is just upscaling the image to fit the screen.
but the depth of the colors are better if you play 360 games in native 720p
only ps3 games can support true 1080p and that is why most of their games dont put 1080p in their boxes cuz they dont make them like that
only a few
the show being one of them...but by going to 1080p you suffer a bit of the framerate drop like last year...but this year is closer to 60fps except in some cases when throwing to first or third and hitting foul balls to the dug out side
is there but maybe not enough for you guys to even care...
and the depth of graphics are better in 720p for the show because it was made for that resolution...
when viewing from sky cam in the show..the foul lines break up in 1080p and they dont in 720p that is what i am getting at...
is not about the tv you have...so get over itComment
