Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
So, I did another simulation to see if the same thing happened, and basically it did. Holliday, Manny and a few other major names were in there season one. Then it starts to get real wild during the next off-season. Prince Fielder, Carlos Gomez, and Jim Thome were names I did not see in the other simulation, so it isn't the same exact people each time. Lincecum and Webb were both in the free agency list during the second off-season as well.
And it seems like the lack of funds is once again the issue and why there are so many cap casualties.
Alot of franchiseaholics are going to be disheartened by this. I was really looking foward to this. I guess the only remedy is to control all 30 clubs.Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
But that means we have to choose where the players sign...not fun for me.
Hopefully it's fixable(through patch), because this game looks like it could provide some fun for me.
Edit: Are we able to edit the contracts of MLB players that are already in the game? or just created players?Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
Odd how Lincecum would be an FA in the 2nd offseason. He didn't even sign until 2006. Even if it was a major league contract upon signing (anyone know if it was?) he wouldn't be due for FA until after his 6th year (after 2012).
So, it's not only screwed up how players are remaining unsigned, but the players that are available is a little screwy as well.Comment

True, but I guess you could develop your own formulas or something to do so. Certainly a major bummer and near game-killer, but I guess worth it if you're willing to deal with it.But that means we have to choose where the players sign...not fun for me.

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
Didn't this same thing happen in nhl2k this year? Guys would stay unsigned because teams didn't have cap room and they would stay there from year to year. There was some kind of franchise fa bug that never got fixed and the only way to fix it was control all 30 teams.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
Hey Chase, TJ sorta answered this before but I'm still unsure what he meant so maybe u can explain further. Sorry to ask again.
Last year for player edits there was an option for the size of the pants: Tight, Normal, Baggy, Super Baggy.
Then there was an option for the bottom of the pants: Tucked, Normal, Long, and Extra Long.
Are both these options available this year, or is it just the bottom part of the pants that u can change????
And did u happen to find a place to change the Jersey size yet????
Thanks Chase, I don't mean to be a pain by asking again, it was just a little unclear. LaterComment

Like Chase said some of the players looked to be "Cap Casualties" so I'm sure that's why Tim linecum is there after 2 years.Odd how Lincecum would be an FA in the 2nd offseason. Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
Well, I have an idea if my question gets answered. It would take MAJOR work though, edit a lot of players contracts to be huge, then return them to normal after we get into franchise mode. This might make the cap room for each team higher. I really don't know if anyone would want to do this though, I may if I am really loving the game but won't if I don't plan on playing very often. Crazy idea, but it may work if cap room is based off the contracts of the team and not a fixed number...Comment

Great question--This is important, if you are able to change contracts and edit them--- in NBA 2K9 YOU COULD!!! So you would assume it would be in this game as well, but clarification on editing contracts in franchise would be helpful if you can answer that Chase.
Also Chase, you haven't answered about the world series celebration, how does it look?Games I'm playing FOREVER: NFL2K5, That is all.Comment
