How much space does the game take up if you install it on your hard drive?

Tomba, I believe he said he did install it to the HDD. It's buried way in the beginning of the thread.

that totally blows about the franchise issues. My fav part of a game is the franchise.

I appreciate those who said to sit tight and see if the franchise issue is fixed in a patch. Hopefully it will be. Regardless, the issue has killed the game for me until it's fixed. I'm just super-bummed that I might go another year without a playable mlb title. I understand that it's not a huge deal for a lot of people who may be purchasing this title, but it's a huge issue to me personally and I'm honestly disheartened that they didn't catch this during the QA process.

Totally unbelieveable the something this "simple" seems to get overlooked in every sports title (not just 2K). Honestly, I guess it's not really unbelieveable anymore. It's always something with sports games. Hopefully someone from 2K will pipe in with some reassurance that the franchise stuff will be fixed shortly.

On point...I asked earlier but haven't seen an answer-Are there in-game saves in 2k9? I seem to remember that at least one of the MLB games have this feature but I can't remember specifically about 2K. Anyone know for sure?

maybe 2K put in a bad economy clause....

things like this drive me absolutely insane
i love how a game that was (presumably) tested, gets released with a major franchise bug/glitch that someone found in one day of casual testing. I just dont get it, does the thorough testing they do not include ONE person to just simply sim 2-3 years of franchise and see how things look?! It makes no sense to me. And to everyone who says they will fix/patch it, 2k does not have the best track record for these sorts of things so there is just as good a chance as a patch doesnt come out for 6 months as there is one is released by 3/3. Furthermore there are people (probably <10%) who dont have xbox live or broadband internet or whatever it is, what kind of solution does 2k have for them?

Man, the franchise news is a big downer. Now I know you can control all 30 teams, but if the issue is a cap bug that's league wide, we could be waiting for a long time before this game is playable in that mode.

I don't hold it against 2k per se, because I can't remember a sports game in any genre that had a super-tight franchise mode from progression/regression to drafting to depth charts to stats.

I really wonder if sports games are going to have to go in another direction because nobody seems to do this right. Perhaps multi-year online leagues are the most promising direction.

I really want for this game to be playable . . .

-This is a long shot question but is there a feature to IMPORT your Franchise from previous versions of MLB games into 2K9??

-the "Pickle" in the demo is poorly implemented. Players will just stand on both bases and toss the ball back and forth creating no rundown/runback chase until eventually an error is made and the baserunner safely advances...this is terrible. You mentioned this has not been fixed in the final?...Can you get into a rundown and confirm?

-how do you view player ratings and attributes during a game to make logical substitute decisions? The demo doesnt seem to allow you to click down on a players name in the lineup card on screen to view their profile.

                              OK, here's a thought...

I'm curious why the "editors" of this sports NEWS gaming site aren't doing their job? Perhaps somebody in the OS offices should be on the phone right now tracking down contacts and asking questions about the franchise bug.
As a reporter myself, it's mind boggling that nobody has suggested this. If you are a gaming site, and make-pretend to be "reporters and editors," then please get to the bottom of this franchise issue.

Even if VC says "no comment" or "we're aware of the issue," at least it's something!!

                              Thanks

um... no. I don't expect the people at OS to light a fire under VC's butt to fix this. That's not their job.

My hope is that SimBaller is reading this thread and can shed some light on the issue and whether there is a fix planned or anything.
