chase, if its not too much of a hassle could you try adding a custom song for a players at bat music and tell us

    a) if it sounds realistic like its coming from the stadium

    b) does it get faded out automatically or does the game just cut the song off when the specified scene is over

    thanks a lot

And to be clear, I don't think the issue is so much that you cannot get guys to swing and miss at balls out of the strike zone or anything, but rather, far and away, swinging strikes outweigh strikes looking. It's somewhat compounded by the fact that there is not enough foul tips and stuff along those lines.

While hitting, I do like how the pitcher comes at you for the most part. In my games so far, the pitchers really try to work you low and away much of the time, but I've seen a few relievers come in and change it up and challenge me high in the strike zone. It's too early and I'm too rusty to really tell if the balls to strikes is solid because I'm probably swinging at a lot of junk, but I would like to swing and miss more than I do.

I think the MLB 2K strike zone is still debatable too, sometimes I want to call QuesTec after some of the low/outside strikes that are called.
Nice chunk of information there - Thanks, man..

There's no "rain" condition. You have cloudy.

My guess/common sense answer is no. Right now, after looking through some of the minor league rosters, it's unnamed guys if they have not played in MLB I believe.

Hopefully they didn't screw that up and make it like ten seconds the way NBA 2K9 does it.
I'll get to this next time I play the game.

Green jersey should have yellow lettering.

Black jersey should have white lettering.

I have never seen a game to get this 100% right.

        Thanks!
This will be the first game to get it 100% right then I guess since it looks like all those requirements are met, at least according to my eyes.

So I was wondering if you could go online in the game or on the 2k website and try creating a league .. When creating, see if flex scheduling is an option .. You would make a lot of league gamers happy
Flex scheduling is an option when creating a league.

My main concern is fielding. In the demo if u move ur outfielder slightly to tweek him into the circle he loses his animation and lets the ball drop.
If you move your fielder at the last second when he is already stationary, I have had an instance or two where the ball bounced off him instead of the ball being caught. I'm not sure whether I like that or not yet -- I'm usually pro-making fielding harder in any way possible, but I haven't played enough games to say whether it's bad or not.

You can still aim your slide. I have not seen any takeout slides yet.

Push LS Up to do head-first slide
            X+LS Down for feet-first slide

Chase, a few questions (if you dont mind)

            1. - are the dust clouds still in? (ala Pigpen from Charlie Brown)
            2. - I felt like alot of fly balls got dropped in the demo, seeing any of this in retail?
            3. - Are there an overabundance of homers just by holding up on the "L" stick? I felt like in the demo i could go yard with just about anyone, whenever i wanted
            4. - are you swinging and missing at all?
            5. - Commentary still seem fresh?

            Thanks in advance
            1. You can still see the poofing dust clouds.

            2. The fly balls question is an interesting one. There is definitely still that 2K slo-mo when running towards a ball with a fielder, which I don't like. But I think big factors as to when you get to a ball or not are your first step and the speed of the fielder. If you have slow fielders it will cost you in this game.

            3. Probably too early to tell if the HRs are too abundant or not. That's one of those things where you have to average it out after at least 15 games to me.

            4. Not as much as I would like, but I am playing on the default settings.

            5. It seems fresh after the short amount of time I've played, who knows how long it will hold up. I will say this, though, I love the way the duo transition from a story to mention a play, and then seamlessly back into a story/convo without losing a beat. It sounds so natural.

While it seems like a subtle problem it makes it difficult to pick up pitches.

Kcvix didnt seem to notice it, do you?
You know, I think I know what you're talking about because I think it's the same beef I usually have with all baseball games (I don't think it's perfect in any of them). I do think there is something missing (a frame, an animation, I dunno but SOMETHING), which makes the pitch and pitching motion look a little less natural than it should. It's not messing me up or making me misinterpret where pitches are going though.

I've seen a few wonky animations, yes. I can't really specify as to what situation I have and have not seen, but I've seen some stuff that made me think "that was not normal."

Cool base, 1980 road/home, batting practice, alt home, alternate, road, home. I can't say for sure whether they are 100% accurate or not since I just don't know these things perfectly -- and I'm even a huge Pirates fan and I still wouldn't know 100%. It definitely looks like their new jerseys are in though.

Let me just say, read their blog, I do almost daily. Without sounding too corny, Bill Abner is a reason why I searched out places like OS in the first place way back when. He's one of the guys who made me think, I'm not alone, other people do really care about these games and their nuances.

As an aside, Bill and Bill (Harris) are still guys I love to read whenever they give their opinions about sports games -- whether I end up agreeing with them or not, because I respect where they are coming from.

PS, Bill now has The Show, so definitely check out his blog for that as well.

Hey Chase i have a question about player jersey numbers. If a guy gets traded to a team (in Franchise or even in default) and anothe rplayer has the same number as him will his number change automatically? Also what about with retired numbers? Example if you put Orlando Hudson on the Dodgers from the FA list will he be wearing number 1? or another number? 1 is retired by the Dodgers. Thanks

                              Thanks
Yes, you can do that. Now I don't know why you would since that seems INSANE to me, but it is possible.
