I can't understand loyalty to any company that doesn't do what's best for consumers. When I purchase a game, I'm looking for what's the best game I will like that's on the market, not what company produced it. The worst part of this blind loyalty is it is so detrimental to us as consumers. If people didn't blindly purchase 2k baseball or Madden when they keep releasing crap, these exclusivity agreements would go away very quickly. Imagine if 2k9 sales feel 50% this year, when that license is up for renewal, they wouldn't be able to afford it, and MLB wouldn't want to give it to them. People need to wise up and buy games based on their quality, and not care who the hell makes it

The other, that I (and I think bkrich) am referring to, has to do with the consumers on various forums, mainly this one. Most people are much harder on EA. Some of this is deserved, some of it is just trend. Ea has the "evil corporation" persona attached to it more than 2K.
Madden gets a ton of crap but it's not mainly because "2K gamers won't let go". If EA were making the best football game available you wouldn't see exclusivity be anywhere near as large a factor as some try to make it out to be. You look in the Madden forum now and there are people bending over to the point of ridiculousness trying to be positive to Tiburon. Yes, exclusivity sucks. But gamers aren't as against exclusivity as much as they are being limited to playing a bad game. If MLB2K9 were the best baseball game available, there'd be very little complaining about exclusivity imoHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

What did BFJ say about the game that was so bad. I only read his post in this thread and I don't see what was so jumping off the ship about those statements. If there is another thread he made that gives more detail please let me know.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Re: Possible first review!! XBM - 6.5
There is a choice in baseball called the show which many agree is much better than 2k. I know the PS3 is expensive and some may not want to purchase it for one game, but there is still a choice. This is much different than football where the only choice we have is Madden, which is (to use your words) UNPLAYABLE!Comment

Re: Possible first review!! XBM - 6.5
This over ambitious project just falls flat on it's face. Plain & Simple. There's no if's, and or buts about it. This game is more unpolished than it is polished.
I have played the crap-out of this game since Friday Night & the reality is this game feels broken. Players morphing thru each other. Players sliding instead of walking.
Listen people the game is what it is...
An Unfinished, Unpolished 1st year game that unfortunately is not worth the price of admission. So I would warn everyone to go into your purchase with that mind-set, so you won't be so disappointed.
Also expect scores ranging 5-7 from various outlets. Not even a great new commentary & a refreshing new presentation can hide the problems the game has..

But how is that the same. 2k did not kill baseball, we all still have a choice, what choice do we have in football? Not sure I'm understanding you.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

What is frustrating to me is all this could of been avoided if they didn't take out some key sliders and let us turn IE off.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Possible first review!! XBM - 6.5
Have you ever thought that some of those that purchase madden or 2k don't feel that it's crap. I'm not trying to be funny, I like 2k baseball, but I'm casual fan so to speak, and for many like myself what they release is enough to satisfy me from year to year. I get your point but I think your comparing what's posted in these forums to what the majority thinks and I don't believe that's true. I don't think it's blind loyalty , I just think a lot of people like 2k baseball and madden just like they are.Comment

I didn't see that post above before. Having read that, it's not enough for me to blast the game or bail out, I still have to play it myself to see how I feel. Some of us like to make up our own minds you know.
And I understand he may have been a loyal 2k fan but what does his thoughts on the game have to do with how YOU YOURSELF feel about the game without playing it. That's not being blind that's thinking for myself and making a decision on what I see and how I feel about something. I still have to see it, play it and judge for myself.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Right now I'm playing on PRO with some tweaks to the Hitting & Pitching Sliders & I'm getting some pretty decent results. Even got some players to take strikes & a got 2 SO looking.Comment

But I am sure you will find a way to defend it. Most blind loyalists do.Comment
