It would have been better just as a question submission for the dev team with him coming back in a day or two and posting the developers answers.

He does what he can i guess, but just isn't very successful pleasing anyone. I think the members of the board seem him more as a joke than anything else...no one takes the guy seriously.
If you couldnt figure it out, he's doing it, so he can hear the issues. If he knows something he's going to respond. If not, he writes them down and he will ask the guys that work on the game. He's trying to get a general idea of what needs fixing for the game.

I talk with this guy pretty much everyday. He's a pretty cool dude. He hears everyones complaints trust me. I let it be known to him, that if this can be fixed in a patch go to whoever he has to go to and see if they can make that happen.

The thing is, everyone like to bash people, but when someone talks firm to that person, they claim your being a jerk and they dont know how to communicate. lol irony is awesome.

      - I was floored when I read that too...

but at the same time, these guys are in a bad position - imagine being a mod for a game series that has let its fans down 4 years in a row...

I didn't say he was a bad guy, he's just not good at communicating with the members of that site and because of it, few of the members really respect him and actually take serious the fact that he can get anything done. He's not a horrible person, just not good at his job. It's obvious he's very unorganized and often makes promises he can't deliver on or has no business making to begin with. He often sets expectations far too high.

The Q&A sessions was a perfect example as very few questions were answerd. He obviously was out of touch with many of the questions, which he prefaced, but if that is the case, why include the A in the Q&A if he can't answer but a small minority of the questions...just say he's compiling a list and will return with answers when he gets them.

Again, it's nothing personal, just observations over the past year from the member side of that board. You can feel free to disagree with my opinion, but I would be the majority of members (not mods) would have similiar complaints.

If he knows how to communicate why do you need to type four paragraphs defending him? Irony is awesome? I would say from viewing the 2k sports forums, besides the obvious game flaws, the worst part is legitimate complaints being ignored. IF this "ron" would actually respond to people, in any way, he wouldn't be bashed. The bashing is not from what he says, it's from what he NEVER says.

Editing stances? I read about this in other threads, but I guess I need more information."

Are you kidding me?! This is the guy who's essentially become the face and voice for MLB 2k9, and he doesn't even know what people mean by editing stances?!

I am absolutely embarrassed for 2k.
Sad isnt it. It really pathetic. He knows the answer, just dont want to tell it. So far everybody i know is leaving me fro the show 09. My friends even my freaking nephew already have preorders for the show.

I only have a 360 but if the ps3 rumor price drop this spring im getting the show man. Im just keep losing faith in this game, keep hearing bad after bad news. Cant edit pitching and batting stance are u freaking kidding me??? Ediiting limits???? are you freaking kidding me.

Further in his defense, how many times can a guy read, "Can you edit players' stances?" Goodness, that was the question being asked 80% of the time.

What does the "A" in Q&A mean?

This obv wasnt good enough for most readers who felt the need to post the same thing over and over about stances after he had alrdy answered it to his ability. Then i see he even sent a email to get more info on the problem but instead of a thank you just more pitching. Needless to say i am appauld to be apart of the forum reader group as i call it, when i see stuff like that.
I would almost agree with you however no one forced Ron to answer Q&A. He represents 2K and knowing that he is going to be asked questions about issues with the game it wouldn't have hurt for him to be prepared.

He should have spoken with the developers before taking the questions. I am sure the developers are aware of the consumer complaints and could have provided feedback on how to approach all questions asked. Just stating that "he needs to look into that" is not acceptable. If Ron isn't the guy that can answer these questions, 2K should have provided a person who could. People drop $60 on a game that has issues and people want to know what is going to be done about said issues. In regards to some of the little things (like editing batting stances) could have been easily answered with, "no, you will not be able to edit stances...the development team is listening and it is something that is being discussed for next year's game".

This is exactly why 2K has lost consumer confidence in its baseball product. I am not a fanboy of anything other than good quality games. EA gets a bunch of crap every year, some of it deservedly so, but they listen to the consumer and fix what they can.

I don't blame Ron, I blame 2K and the whole operation for not preparing themselves for this type of interview. The perception is that this whole Q&A was a "dog and pony" show....And for anyone to get excited over a Q&A without the "A" is ludicrous....
