The Little Things Thread
This is always my favorite thread every year. I don't have the game yet but I want to hear what you guys have to say.Tags: None -
Re: The Little Things Thread
Best thing i've seen so far is the following:
Opposing batter hits a hard liner nearly out of range of the 2nd basemen, my 2B reaches out and bats the ball down with his glove, and it starts rolling around.
Here comes the best part...in previous years, you'd always have to sit around waiting for the player to regroup, pick up the ball, and make the throw to 1st, usually too late....
This year, my 2B knocked the ball down, and while he was recovering from his stumble, snagged the ball barehanded off the ground and made the throw in time to first.
It's little stuff like that that I appreciate in a game. -

Few things.
Planes flying over head at Citi Field.
Saw a close play at first, the ump started to make the safe motion, then changed it to an out. Looked cool. Showed 4 replays of it at different angles.
Love the commercial transitions after a half inning.
Love the clouds moving on the field in the day to afternoon transition.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
1) Video switchs to the coach and the commentary starts commenting on him. Neat little touch.
2) Saw kinda the same thing as Macdaddy. A hard shot fired down first base line, he makes a diving attempt to SLOW the ball down. Getting a glove on it and it rolling towards second base. It prevented the batter from hitting a double and limited him to stay on first GREAT play
3) Chipper Jones nails a homer bottom of the ninth with a man on to win the game. It switched to him running down the base path, pumping his fist getting the crowd fired up that he won the game.
4) Same game as above, Top of the ninth game tied up, every one in the stands was on their feet. Very cool.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
Mike Pelfrey pitching, pierre drag bunts down first base line, Pelf jumps off mound loses his balance boots ball in foul territory, and in my haste I pick up the ball and proceed to fill up throw meter and airmail it into rightfield.... pretty coolComment

LMAO, a miss play has never looked so good. I love those things about 2k games. Like a QB slipping from the hike in APF. EA tends to stay away from things that "take the user control out of it", but I think it adds a nice layer of realism that all players don't make perfect plays each and every time.Comment

I was playing a game against the Tigers and they show Jim Leyland. He makes a motion like he is putting something in his mouth and then he spits a moment later. It was like he was spitting out sunflower seeds. It was very cool to see that.Comment

I did the same thing last night after just trying to randomly throw to first base...too much meter and there it went right into the stands. Very cool.

Re: The Little Things Thread
- The catcher calls out the pitches by putting down the different finger combos!
- Really enjoy the center field centered pitcher view for hitting and pitching! (Reminds me of the old Bases Loaded game.)
- Players hanging out in their respective dugouts.
- You can call off other fielders by pressing Y.
- The infield needs to be Dragged!

Re: The Little Things Thread
I have runners at first and second. Grounder to the third baseman who back hands it. He is slightly deeper than the bag and a little toward 2nd base at the time. He moves to go tag third for the out, realizes he's not going to beat the runner, then tries to tag the runner who slides just out of his reach. The animation starting with stepping toward third then changing his mind, turning, and sweeping the tag at the runner was very realistic. The runner's slide seemed timed perfectly.
