Re: The Little Things Thread
I like when you replace your pitcher, you'll see the manager tapping either "rightie" or "leftie" on his arm.
I also like getting the opposing pitcher "rattled"...lol
I had Pierre on first, and was dancing all over the place trying to set up the steal, and the cpu pitcher would constantly throw to first.....so much so in fact,I was able to work the count to 3-0
1st pitch-low and outside
2nd pitch-pitchout
3rd pitch- up high.
It was really nice to be able to play "mind games" with the pitcher, and tell he was definitely not focused on the batter.Last edited by Kramer5150; 03-07-2009, 03:54 AM.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: The Little Things Thread
Don't remember if this has been mentioned, but the swinging bunts is a nice touch this year. I don't remember them being in last year. You just can't beat having a power hitter at the plate, taking a full swing only to have it dribble out in front of the plate for the catcher to field.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
I initially though I wasn't seeing too many little things, but a lot came to mind when I started thinking about the games I've played.

Lighting during days games is incredible. Not only does the lighting shift during the afternoon, but clouds can roll in, reduce the brightness, and roll out. It makes the world feel alive.

The crowds are wonderful. Some reviews have knocked them, and I'm not sure why. The stand for big events and lunge for foul balls. I've even seem some fans reach for a ball, miss as it hits a luxury box, and watch the fans below reach for the ricochet. That's cool.

It's too bad some of the transition animations aren' implemented, because some of the sig styles are amazing.

During a game with a runner in first, I hit a soft line drive toward second. My runner started to retreat when at the last second, the second baseman took a step backwards to play the ball on a hop. The defense turned two, and I felt screwed with.

Seeing fielders hesitate when they think a teammate will field a ball, only to scramble when that teammate misses.

Hitting looping, gap shot liners that are cut off before reaching the wall, but well placed enough where a hitter can leg out a double.

Re: The Little Things Thread
Ground ball down the third base line, I get to it with Chipper Jones deep behind third he back hands it and as he plants to throw his back foot slips a little looked very realistic. The runner beat the throw by a step. I like all the cut scenes, if there are people who are skipping these they are missing out on the realism of this game."Baseball is Life"

Re: The Little Things Thread
Hit an inside the park HR with Ankiel as he hit one down the LF line and the OF just missed it.
Also had a line drive hit to my CF and he couldn't run and turn around quick enough so it goes off his glove and to the wall.
Love the top 3 plays, signature plays, and fielding plays after the game.
Love how the relief pitcher runs from the bullpen to the mound.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
little kids as batboys, i dont recall seeing them before. also a sick slide into home animation where the runner dodges the catcher and tags the back side of the plate on a reach back after missing initially. i have also seen outfielders take bad angles and balls get to that wall that could have been cut off if not for their misstep.Last edited by qpc123; 03-10-2009, 07:30 PM."You come at the King, you best not miss..."Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
"Jose" chant at Citi Field when Reyes bats (just heard that tonight)...
I don't know if the "clanking" man is at every stadium, but it's nice to hear that at Citi Field... there was a guy that would walk around Shea with a cowbell or something like that..
Nice touchesComment
